This setting should be enabled by default.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
You can get your desired results by following the below steps:
1) Open a pdf
2) Right click and go to document properties.
3) click on initial view tab
4) Select desired ‘Window options’ & saveAfter doing the above steps whenever you relaunch the pdf, you’ll get the desired page fit (you selected).

This doesn't work in latest version. 25.256
Please add this to the regression test cases so that is not broken again after fix.

I don't think anyone is asking to remove this feature from Adobe. The request is to fix the setting that switches it off. There are people who don't need AI or they use other AIs, and those who want to use it will still be able to use it. Personal choice is the key here, don't force the use of AI.
I.e. I don't think you would be allowed to input confidential content (especially legal) to a random public AI, one must use their private internal AI in such cases.
Because of this I can't open some documents in Adobe because there's no guarantee it's not sent to Adobe's AI. Sure I could go offline too, but it's not really convenient.
