BUG: Performance issue with Protected Mode
When opening a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat Reader that has been obtained from an untrusted location (i.e. has Mark Of The Web [MOTW]) AND/OR is not in Adobe Reader's trusted locations AND Protected Mode is enabled, Acrobat Reader hangs for 3 to 10 seconds after initially displaying the document. Thereafter the interface becomes responsive again. The easy way to determine if the interface has "frozen" is to attempt to scroll through the opened PDF document. Disabling Protected Mode resolves the issue but leaves Acrobat Reader vulnerable to security risks. The status of Protected View doesn't have an effect on the issue for most users.
Adobe Acrobat Reader version: 2024.004.20220 (no updates available).
Windows 11 Enterprise on 13th Gen Intel Core-i5, 16 GB RAM, SSD.

I work with 850 other users and many of them report the exact same issue.
