Healthy representations of consent and boundaries in adult fiction
Honestly, I wish more adult comics showed clear consent and boundaries. It really pulls me out of a story when things feel off or one-sided, even if it’s just meant to be fantasy. I think stories are way stronger when characters actively choose what’s happening together. I’ve been trying to learn how to write that better myself. I came across a few examples at https://18comix.org where consent is actually part of the story in a way that feels natural, not forced or preachy. Curious if others have found good sources or tips for handling this the right way.

Totally agree. When consent is clear, it makes everything feel more grounded and emotionally real. I’ve found that showing characters checking in with each other or respecting hesitation actually adds to the tension and connection—it doesn’t take anything away. It’s definitely something worth being intentional about, especially when you’re writing your own work.
