We're always looking for ways to make Acrobat better, and we appreciate the time and effort you have taken to share your feedback with us.
We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change, however we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you are able to be more productive & get more out of Acrobat.
With the new interface we aim to
Provide a simplified viewing experience that helps reduce clutter & optimise it for most used PDF actions that are relevant while viewing a document.
Easily allow users to discover PDF tools they need by ensuring tools are intuitively grouped and a click away,
* For example, all tools that allow content, page & file level edits can be found under one action based verb called “Edit”; tools that allow converting files to & from PDFs can be found under “Convert”; tools that allow filling & signing documents or requesting signatures from others under “Sign”.Most importantly, the new interface enables users to effortlessly move between different PDF tools to complete their document related tasks
* For example, someone viewing comments in a PDF should also be able to easily edit the text of it without interrupting their workflow
* A user can seamlessly perform page level edits such as reordering, inserting, extracting, rotating or deleting pages while editing content and/or commenting on the fileRest assured, we have been actively listening to the feedback from this community to swiftly incorporate them into our upcoming releases, few of which are as below
Lack of an ability to customise the user interface
* Users will soon be able to drag the floating quick tools bar anywhere within the viewer to prevent overlap with the top left of the document
* Ability to pin commonly used tools for easy accessDiscoverability of certain top user actions & tools
* Easy access to undo & redo on the top bar , page display, navigation & zoom tools such as 2 page view, 2 page with scrolling, marquee & dynamic zoom etc, from the bottom right menu
* Improved discovery of common file level actions such as Save As, Print, Protect using password from the MenuBugs, performance & stability issues
* Fixed several crashers and bugs, and continue to address these issues with the highest priorityWith the July update, we ensured that users are notified of the impending change, and have the option to try out the new UI before being migrated
We are working on ensuring all pending accessibility issues in terms of contrast issues, keyboard functionalities amongst others are addressed in the upcoming releases this year
A point to note is that as we made these changes in the interface, we have ensured all tools & features that are currently supported, retain their familiar functionalities and workflows as they did in the previous version. We are proactively addressing any gaps or issues reported by users related to any break in current workflows.Certain tools such as Action wizard, Custom Verb creation & portfolios are not supported with complete capabilities on the new Acrobat, and we have ensured that users are guided on how to switch back to the old UI to continue using these tools.
We will follow up on this response with a detailed blog post explaining the changes, a guide to help familiarise you to the new interface, along with regular updates on upcoming changes.
Thank you once again for your feedback, and do look forward to our upcoming releases !

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminShashank Jain (Admin, Adobe) commentedHi all, we have gone through the post and comments and would like to update on some of the specific ones.
Regarding pinning : We now have a pinning option for most of the sub-tools in Quick tool action bar, for e.g. once "Replace selected text with comments" is selected & you pin it using the pin icon below in the same tool bar. you can continuously use the sub-tool without again going back again to select, and with simply "Esc" you can de-select it.
With latest update, we have provided and option in Preferences> General>Open documents as new tabs in the same window (requires relaunch), now you can work in different tabs with PDFs and there is a preference where you can anytime turn it Off/ONFor navigation, either you can use up and down arrows in Right hand panel to navigate, or you can go via Hamburger Menu>View>PageNavigation accordingly.
However, if there is anything specific that you find missing, please help with the screenshot., we will take a look for that as well.we still have the Read Mode in new UI which can be used from Display page from right hand panel or from hamburger Menu>View as well
For pinning more items in Right hand pane, please click on Display page, goto More and start pinning tools/sub-tools that are required, e.g: Marquee zoom can now be pinned there (pls see attached screenshot)
For crash observed, we have fixed many crashers in the updated version, however, even after update (Help>CheckForUpdates) if you're observing any crash, please let us know the workflow you are trying to perform and we will fix the same. For Fewer pop-up requests, we have introduced a limit in terms of cadence and frequency, however, if there is any particular pop-up that is coming up more frequently than ever, please let me know and I will get the same prioritise.
I completely understand, new UI comes up with a learning curve, I would suggest you all to please go through this blog-post which explicitly mentions what all has been changed in New UI to help onboard faster : https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/learn-new-acrobat.html
Besides, there are any issues/bugs you observe in New UI, pls mention them specifically and we will prioritise them.
Thanks all for your valuable feedbacks!!

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminShashank Jain (Admin, Adobe) commentedThanks Eric for this thread, while in the earlier comments Amit and others have mentioned what are the benefits for New UI. I would like you all to please go through this guide https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/learn-new-acrobat.html
which explicitly states what all has been changed in new UI, I completely resonates that a new UI comes with some learning curve, but the above blog-post would definitely help everyone in onboarding and getting familiarise with new UI faster.Besides this, really want to understand what specific workflow/tool you are using in the new UI and you're & finding it difficult to find/perform. Will take a deeper look into that specifically and help you find it in the new UI or fix it at our end if it's a bug/miss in new UI.
Said that, after going to all comments, would like to answer few of the queries/issues raised.
Query: why I can see "tour panel" each time I am opening any file:
Answer: Major Verbs(such as Edit, Convert,Sign, Prepare form, etc) has its associated tour cards, once it is shown, it would never be shown again. It is to help users navigate faster in new UIQuery: Unable to set "open pdf's from last session on Acrobat launch"
Answer > Please go to preferences and under General select 'Open PDFs from last
session on Acrobat launch and relaunch acrobat, it's working now.Be assured, we are going through these feedbacks and are fixing them on a regular cadence, as to update you that in v1 release of new UI, we got feedbacks which we have fixed, some of the examples are :
Adding a preference to remember current state of Tools pane in Reader, making Draggable Quick Toolbar, Pinning of Tools in right rail for customization of page display and navigation tools, Customisation of tools in All tools , Added “Menu” label to hamburger, Undo/Redo option in Top Bar ,Upfront Dismiss/Skip option on first launch onboarding coach marks, Addition of Snapshot tool in Right Click Menu to improve its discoverability, Print Feature has now been enabled after selecting Portfolio PDF document, Split tool now working when added in Quick Toolbar
Unique icons added for tools “Select Text”, “Select object”, "Crop Pages" & "Set Page Boxes" in Quick Toolbar
And several fixes for crashers and bugs along with some accessibility related fixes -

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminShashank Jain (Admin, Adobe) commentedHi Viktor, thanks for your feedback, in the v1 of new interface, the toolbar had a fixed location and after receiving the feedback from various users, me made it draggable/floating to add to a flexibility to position it any where in the document.
I will note your suggestion as well to hide the floating toolbar and will add it to the product backlog.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminShashank Jain (Admin, Adobe) commentedHi David, Would request you to update the version of Acrobat, using Menu > Help>Check for Updates. we have resolved many inconsistencies reported in its earlier version. To help you out further with your queries:
we have all save options under Hamburger Menu bar; The hamburger menu houses the most-used actions in one place. On Windows, it helps to combine all the options currently available under the existing File, Edit, and View menus. However, on macOS, the File, Edit, and View menus continue to appear separately.
For Edit, there is an option upfront in Megaverbs, you can click on Edit & can perform action of Editing
Please refer this for more help to learn about new UI: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/learn-new-acrobat.html
Please let me know if you still have any queries or issues observed that we can prioritise at our end.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminShashank Jain (Admin, Adobe) commentedHi Steve, Acrobat with new updates has new UI. It was primarily done to solve the problems of discoverability, fluidity, disconnected experience and others.
There is no major change as such when we talk of functionality of tools, but tools are placed logically to make experience a bit better, I would like you to please refer this blog-post where it is explicitly mentioned what all has changed and where is it located now in Modern UI.
Please refer: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/learn-new-acrobat.html
Also, for helping out you in terms of customisation of tools, we can still do that - see attached image.
