Windows 10 preview pane and # pound signs/hash tags
Since the March 7th update, the Windows 10 File Explorer preview pane will display a directory listing instead of a preview of a pdf if a # (hash tag/pound sign) is in the directory name or the file name. Not all special characters have been tested.

I just checked on this again, and it seems as if an Adobe Reader installation repair (from help menu) does resolve this issue. Not extensively tested. Thanks to Mike D for making note of this.
This is a wide spread problem, and my organization has multiple thousands of files and hundreds of people affected.

I thought this problem was fixed with the latest Reader Update Build 2200120117 but it isn't?

We've been dealing with this issue since the update rolled out and I'm tired of repairing Adobe for our clients. It's ridiculous that no fix has been rolled out for this issue.

Same here with a # in the filename. It won't allow a preview in Outlook or in Windows Explorer.

Same issue here with hashtag in file name

Same problem with any PDF that has a hashtag in the file name.
