Adobe Acrobat Reader crashes when trying to trigger an annotation to open when the NVDA screen reader is running
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a PDF file containing some text and an associated annotation like this in the attached sample file.
2. Locate the Annotation button allowing to reveal the text within.
3. Try to interact with the button using the keyboard.
4. If done right after opening the file, the comments pane should be focused. Locate the "Close" button using the arrow keys and activate it.
5. Now repeat steps 2 and 3.
Actual behavior:
When performing step 5, Adobe Reader crashes.
Expected behavior:
The annotation text is shown as is the case after performing step 3 and nothing crashes.
System configuration
NVDA version:
2024.1 beta 7, but reproducible on 2023.3 also
Windows version:
Windows 11 Version 23H2 (Build 22631.3007)
Adobe Acrobat v. 23.008.20470
Additional info
Perhaps it is of importance that the PDF is a result of a PowerPoint presentation being exported using the Adobe PDF Maker tool. It may also be an issue of the NVDA screen reader itself in which case crashdump data from Adobe's side to which I as a private user have no access too would be appreciated in order to be able to fully triage.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
