Different Save Behavior of Acrobat Reader vs. Pro when Editing PDF Forms on SharePoint
When users open a PDF form stored on MS SharePoint using Acrobat Reader, fill it out, and attempt to save it, they are forced to choose a temporary save path — despite the original SharePoint location being known. This adds unnecessary steps and increases the risk of errors.
In contrast, Acrobat Pro allows the same PDF form to be opened, edited, and saved directly back to SharePoint without prompting for a path — which we consider the ideal behavior.
This inconsistency has led some users to switch to alternative PDF viewers that do not exhibit this issue.
We are aiming for a unified workflow: form creation in Acrobat Pro, and form completion using Acrobat Reader.
Can you please resolve this difference in behavior between Reader and Pro?
