  1. Bug: Reader crashes on certain unicode ranges entered in comments

    Acrobat Reader 2023.001.20177 on MacOS Ventura 13.4.1 running on 2022 MBP (M1 Pro CPU) crashes systematically when inputing the second entry of certain unicode characters in PDF comments.
    This seems to affect at least the mathematical fraktur characters such as U+1D52A. Entering character once is OK, but immediately upon entering the same character the second time in the same comment Acrobat Reader exits without any error code or other debugging information. It does not matter if the character is entered via Edit->Emoji&Symbols menu or by copy-paste. This occurs reliably with many different PDF documents.

  3. "Tools Pane" menu has GOT TO GO.

    I'm in my web browser, and like 99.99% of other applications, you know what's on the right side of the window? A SCROLL BAR.

    Whoever at Adobe decided that you guys are so special that you could break this rule by adding a menu...needs to be shot.

    At the very least give us an option to move it to a NORMAL menu position for cripes sake.

    But this is horrible. Are you guys sharing UI dev people with Facebook or something?

  6. Auto-fit text callout text box.

    Small text callouts don't shrink the text box to the size of the text, there is little reason to keep the extra space in the frame, there should be an option to automatically fit it to the text string length.

  9. pdf ebook 1727 comments, lagging 5-10 seconds after every input

    i am using Acrobat Reader DC to read pdf ebooks and using the notes / marking functions. since about 1200 comments, the Acrobat Reader is severely lagging on every input.

    could i send the file to the Adobe development team? i cannot upload it here because of the copyright restrictions.

  14. Empty sticky notes keep disappearing when they should not

    Update 2022.003.20310 introduced the following change: "Acrobat detects a blank sticky note added and removes it."

    There should at minimum be a setting to disable this new behavior.

    With this update, sticky notes disappear if nothing is written on them immediately after their creation before clicking somewhere else. This is less intuitive and less flexible than the previous behavior. Simple actions like "add sticky note"-->"copy text to paste into the sticky note" are now made impossible because the sticky note disappears as you copy the text.

  20. Comments missing on opening

    Steps to reproduce the issue :
    Happens in certain documents, not sure why.

    Environment:
    Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 22.001.20169

    Expected result
    If the document has 33 comments, I expect to see them all on opening, in the comments panel.

    Observed result
    On opening, only a fraction of comments is listed. E.g.: 3 comments (although the document has 33 comments instead).

    If I scroll down through all pages, the missing comments gradually appear, and the number of comments (on top of the comments panel) gets updated accordingly, while scrolling down.
