    Hi Itamar,

    Thanks For quick reply.

    We have logged a bug for this. There is a possibility the error could be on Windows side or scanner side. Could you please try to scan with other applications(E.g., Word etc) and share the status?

    Regards,
    Rishabh

    @David

    We currently do not support the Acrobat 10 version.
    So I suggest you to please use trial version of latest Acrobat DC-

    https://acrobat.adobe.com/in/en/free-trial-download.html

    Also, you have an option while installing Acrobat DC that it won't impact your Acrobat 11.

    Thanks
    Rishabh

    Hi Masahiro,

    I used latest Acrobat DC Pro.

    App language: Japanese and English Both
    OCR language: Japanese language.
    Mac OS: Eng,Japanese
    It worked as expected both for copy paste in Acrobat and in Preview app
    So language of Acrobat and OCR need NOT be same.

    OCR ran successfully and was select-able in Acrobat.
    we have reproduced the issue that copying is working fine with Editable text and Images and not with Searchable Image.
    So, for now Selecting and copy pasting is the issue, am i right?

    Hi Michelle,

    There multiple ways in Acrobat Pro DC in which you can run OCR on a document.
    Once OCR-ed, the text in the document is free to be selected and used.

    Steps:
    1) Launch Acrobat
    2) Open the document to be OCR-ed
    3) Open Tools->Enhance Scan->Recognize text->In this File
    4) Click Recognize text button

    Your text will be OCR-ed with being select-able as a whole without any boxes.

    The boxes you are facing are bounding boxes and are only visible in Edit App.
    Once you close the App the boxes are not visible.

    Thanks
    Rishabh

    Hi Brian,

    Thanks for suggestion. Given the complexity of OCR engine in Acrobat we will dig deeper into the feasibility of the proposed feature.

    Thanks

    Hi Jon,

    OCR is getting better day by day and we are working to make it work with almost all the real life documents we come up with and obtain from various resources.

    This is an ongoing process as we can't check on ALL the documents in the world. Thanks for your interest in reporting about the quality of OCR. We will try our best to make it better.

    Thanks

    Hi M.Surber,

    Adobe Acrobat DC Pro houses may more features and updates than the Acrobat XI version and there are multiple methods of reaching a functionality. For particular case of scanning, you can also chose the file menu option i.e.,
    File->Create->PDF From Scanner.
    On this screen you have both the one-click preset scan and personalized custom scan option.

    Thanks
    Rishabh
