iOS Acrobat Can't Save Back to OneDrive Personal — Always Creates (Recovered) File
Whenever I open a PDF stored in OneDrive Personal through the Adobe Acrobat app on iOS (iPad and iPhone), the file opens and edits correctly, but fails to save back to OneDrive. After editing, I receive the following error:
“Unable to save the file [filename].pdf to OneDrive. A copy has been saved as filename.pdf to your device.”
This happens consistently, regardless of:
File name (clean, no special characters)
File location (root directory or folder)
Network connection (Wi-Fi or cellular)
File ownership (I own the files, not shared)
Method of opening (directly through Acrobat app, not via Files app)
What I've already tried:
Reinstalled both Acrobat and OneDrive
Removed and re-added OneDrive account within Acrobat
Changed "Starred file location" to "This device only"
Tried newly created PDFs and dummy files
Ensured all privacy permissions are enabled
Attempted manual saving and uploads
Confirmed this does not happen with Google Drive (which works fine)
Device info:
Acrobat version: latest (iOS)
OneDrive version: 16.13.4
iPadOS/iOS version: 18.4.1
Please investigate this bug. It significantly disrupts workflows for users depending on OneDrive Personal integration with Acrobat on iOS.
