When there are more than a page of recent documents, Adobe Reader opens unresponsive
For the last few days, if I have more than a page of recent documents, when I open Adobe Reader, it immediately becomes unresponsive.
I then have to open Adobe Reader by double clicking on a PDF document and clear the recent document list. Opening Adobe Reader this way means that it doesn't try to load the thumbnails for the recent documents, which is what I assume is the problem. Adobe Reader will then open correctly until the recent files list gets too big.
As a workaround, I have just set the "Documents in recently used list" to 10 which will hopefully solve this. Prior to this it was set to 100.
When I've closed Adobe Reader when it has been unresponsive this has generated a Microsoft error report, so you should be able to track these down and get the error information.
Windows 10, 64 bit, version 2004
Adobe Reader version 20.13.20064.405839
Update to my report above: I now think that this problem occurs when the first document in the recent documents list is a PDF that was created by scanning a document.
Adobe Reader version is now 2020.013.20074.
