Adobe Acrobat DC 64 bit – Profile-based version is needed for shared workstations
Our environment consists of shared workstations. We have a mix of users with paid Adobe Standard and Pro licenses subscriptions that sign in with their federated account to password protect / combine PDF’s etc.
When a user that doesn’t have a license subscription uses a workstation that was previous upgraded by someone with a license, the Adobe product no longer works for them. They can’t process simple forms that they use to use Adobe Reader for, because Adobe requests that the user must sign in to use the software.
This system-based upgrade path is derailing our business and customer service. We would like to see Adobe allow the free toolset to be available for users who don’t sign into the Adobe Acrobat DC software program after it has been signed into by someone else on that same workstation.
I’ve currently stopped the Adobe Update Service on our computers to keep the updates at bay, however this isn’t ideal as cybersecurity and patching vulnerabilities as they arise with Adobe is a top priority.
I look forward to hearing from you.
