  10. Easier to use Highlighter Tool: Pencil Drawer

    Two clicks are required to change the Highlighter tool color through the Comment Tools Tab.
    By allowing users to add individual colors to the Tools Tab, one could change colors with one click.

    (Three clicks are necessary if you're changing the color of a highlight after highlighting: click to select highlight > click 'change color' > click to select desired color)

    I - and I believe, plenty of users - color code with the Highlighter tool, yet, changing colors requires too many clicks, especially when one is changing between colors frequently. It also creates a hassle to the reading flow.…

  14. Bug in adobe reader 2025 mac with latex and matplotlib

    From the update of 2025 in adobe reader on mac, pdf figures generated with matplotlib do not display text labels. Moreover, I have seen that the symbols of the enviroment itemize of latex do not appear in the compiled pdf.

    In other pdf visors as chrome, this error does not happen.

    All times I have reinstalled the new version of 2025, the error held. To solve this, I have installed the version of 2024 choosing an old mac osx system, and then works. Therefore, the error is in the current version of adobe reader.

    I get tired of Adobe Acrobat Reader pushing me to buy a subscription to something. I also don't like that it leaves a big window open even after I close all the documents I'm looking at. Printing doesn't work like normal Mac apps. And on my work laptop, there seems to be a security update every few days. What is so fragile with it that it needs to be updated that often? Mac "Preview" displays PDF files just fine, and rarely updates. This was all annoying enough to me that uninstalled it from my Mac, and now PDF files open…

  20. Acrobat Reader no longer closes after executing print command

    This bug has been reported before. It was claimed that it was fixed in version 22.2.20191 (see this discussion: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/adobe-stays-open-after-quick-print/td-p/13068306), but we can still reproduce it in current version 23.8.20533.

    The problem is that when a print command is issued to Acrobat, the application opens, prints, but does not close again when printing is finished.

    We have a customer needing to print batches containing hundreds of documents. Because Acrobat misbehaves, a batch will get stuck whenever a PDF is encountered. The only work-around we found in Acrobat is to manually close the application after each print job. Of course…
