Lost Comments: The new app keeps deleting/not saving annotations
After actualization the new app keeps deleting/not saving the coments, the highlights, etc., all the modifictions I do to the pdfs. Why?! It is extremely frustrating, as I work with Academic texts in my PhD research, and I lose every single note I add. This never happened in the ancient app, which was very fine.
Hi,
We’re really sorry for any inconveniences this has caused.
If you can answer any of these specific questions, that would be really helpful:
- How long had you been commenting for before you lost data?
- Did you click the ‘done’ button in the top left?
- Did you only use a single tool (highlight), or did you alternate?
- How did you leave the pdf you were commenting before your comments were lost? (Switching to another app, closing the app, etc.)
- Did you share the file?
- Did the app crash?
If possible, would you mind taking a screen recording of the issue? You can find information on how to do so here: support.apple.com/en-us/HT207935
Thank you,
Jeffrey

‘Some’ of my highlights seem to have disappeared after leaving and returning to the app. I have noticed that if you click (hold) on one highlight that you have previously done, or just make a new one so you have something to select, it gives you forward and back arrows in a dialogue box which will allow you to sequentially step through your highlights. By doing this I have noticed that it will show a blue box around text that I have previously highlighted but is not showing it. It shows the highlight colour as opaque. You can then select a colour and it will re-highlight it.
More than happy to attach a screen shot or recording but can’t see how to attach it to this text window

Far from ideal but if you don’t want to re-read a whole document and want to see what you had highlighted in the past that isn’t showing for some reason, this seems to be the only way I have found to do it.

I face the same problem. Also when I try to send it as an attachment to an email, some of them (notes, shapes etc) are lost and some appear scattered arround in the file.

Dear Adobe have you come up with a solution for this problem of notes/highlights disappearing once you come back to it the next day etc. It is highly frustrating and makes Adobe unusable. Solutions please?

It seems that if I don’t leave the document within the app prior to closing it I loose all my notes, highliting and underlining. I never had this problem with the old version.
