Acrobat Reader DC - latest update for Win 10 2004 locks up
Execute most recent AR DC (32-bit), click on any of the recently opened PDF files from list, file opens and content displays, then AR DC locks up, requiring use of Task Manager to kill it.
Error message shows in popup window:
logAPI.startLogSession("OneAppIsReady"); https://rna-resource.acrobat.com/onboarding?showing=pdfOwnership&variant=3 @font-face {font-family: adobe-clean; src: local('Segoe UI');}@font-face {font-family: adobe-clean Semibold; src: local('Segoe UI Semibold');}@font-face {font-family: adobe-clean; font-weight: bold; src: local('Segoe UI');}
Hi,
Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.
1) Have you applied a latest patch of Win10-2004 after which you are facing this issue ?
2) Could you confirm me the current version of Acrobat Reader DC that you have ?
3) Could you please do Help → Repair Installation and see if it fixes the issue ?
Thanks

OK, fixed it. Here's how I did it.
1) Uninstalled AR DC using Windows uninstall app
2) Ran Adobe Cleanup for Reader
3) Restarted PC
4) Ran CCleaner
5) Ran CCleaner on registry
6) Ran MS Disk Cleanup on C: drive, including System Files
7) Restarted PC
8) Downloaded current Adobe Reader DC Version 2020.012.20048 from Adobe
- Unchecked Chrome extension, unchecked both McAfee options, run install
9) Downloading OK, Installation Complete
- uncheck "Launch" box, click Finish
10) Set Adobe Reader DC as default for PDF files
11) Everything looks OK, no lockup - Version 2020.012.20048 now showing in "About"
12) Restarted PC
13) Everything still looks and behaves OK
14) Adios! -

Tried another "Repair Installation" - have to work fast because popup error happens within seconds after executing AR DC. No difference - repair appears to die before completing. Tried "Check for Updates" 3x. Updated with SAME version 3x. (Version 2015.007.20033). Appears to be hopelessly stuck in an update loop, leaving the same defective AR DC in place each time.

1) Yes
2) 2015 Release | Version 2015.007.20033 (was just updated less than 30 minutes ago)
3) Did Help->Repair Installation (appears to die before completing)After executing AR DC today, error message (as in first post) pops up, then after about 20 seconds, AR DC disappears from the screen, as if it killed itself. An improvement over having to use Task Manager to kill it! :)
