  1. Clear Formatting in Add note to replace text comment adds a new line

    If you use "Clear Formatting" on the comment content after adding a comment with the "Add note to replace text" tool, a new line / return is added at the end of the comment. This completely undercuts our workflow which relies on removing formatting information from comments we are using for review purposes.

    Details:

    OS: Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit (Build 19042)
    System language: German
    Software: Adobe Reader DC 2022.001.20169, Adobe Acrobat DC

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Open a PDF file
    2. Add a comment with "Add note to replace Text"
    3. Double click comment content
    4. Select all comment content, chose Text Style…

    Hi, I want to suggest that you make the 'Comment' icon and the 'Add sticky note' icon different. They currently are both the same (speech bubble). And, even more confusing (to me at least), is that, if you click the "Add sticky note" button and add a note, the new note is colored yellow--and that new note now looks just like the OTHER icon ('Comment'), which is also colored yellow.     Ditch McAfee. Windows defender, Malware Bytes, and Symantec are what I use, and I hate having to uninstall McAfee after accidentally installing it.

    意見ないし要望：
    以下の機能を担うショートカットキーを、新たに設けて欲しい。
    また、それに当たって、当方の希望するショートカットキーの設定も、併せて例示しておく。

    １．単ページ表示　：　S キー
    ２．見開き表示　：　D キー　（理由：上記「S キー」と位置的に近い）
    ３．全画面表示　：　F キー
    ４．全画面表示解除　：　F キー　または　Esc キー

    これらは、おそらくは、こと「閲覧」の際においては、割合良く使うものとなるだろうと思われるので、なるべく「ワンボタン操作」にしておいて欲しい。

    理由ないし詳細：
    フルスクリーンで表示している状態のままで、「単ページ表示」と「見開き表示」とを切り替えたい、と思っている。
    また、「ウィンドウ表示」と「フルスクリーン（全画面表示）」とを切り替える、といった事も、閲覧の際の操作としては、割と良く有る事だと思われる。
    これらについて、ショートカットキーの新設を願う。

    私見だが、これらは、こと「閲覧」といった用途においては、かなり基本的なものであるように思われる。
    こういった「当たり前」ともいえる機能が、未だに整備されていない、とかいった事は、
    当該ソフトウェアが、こと「閲覧」を主目的としているユーザーに対して、配慮を欠いている、と言わざるを得ない。

    また、これも私見だが、当該ソフトウェアの使途としては、おそらくは９割方が、いわゆる「読み専」であろうと思われる。
    文書作成（書き専？）などの使途は、全体の内の１割程度に過ぎないのではないか、と思われる。
    それらの比率から見ても、いわゆる「読み専」とされるようなユーザーに対するフォローは、もう少し配慮されて然るべきであるように思われる。

    あと、これは少し発展的な意見となるかもしれないが、
    この際、「読み専」用に特化したようなアプリを、新規に開発もしくは配布なさっても良いのかもしれない。
    実際、当該アプリは、「読み専」としては不必要である機能が多過ぎる。
    その結果として、アプリとしての「軽快性」や「堅牢性」「簡易性」などが損なわれてしまっては、本末転倒である。
    よって、この際、「読み専」用に特化したような、簡易版ともいえるアプリを、Adobe自ら、新規に作成なさっては如何かと思う。
    上記にても有るように、その使途の９割方は、おそらく「読み専」である。
    想定されるユーザー数ないしニーズは、充分に大きい、と思われる。
    こういった重要な案件を、「他社任せ」などとしてはならない、と思う。
    差し出がましいかもしれないが・・・、
    これを「Acrobat Reader Light」とでも、仮に命名しておく。

  10. Comment-filter is buggy?

    The comment-filtering tool isn’t working as it used to. Before this issue, the comments I marked/checked as ‘completed’ would hide automatically when I set the comments-filter to ‘none’. I could then easily see how many comments there left unsolved. Now I have to constantly “manually refresh” the filter to get the checked comment to hide as I am working though the document.

    By “manually refreshing” I mean go into the filter menu, change filter to ‘none’ and ‘completed’, click use, then go back to the filter menu and choose only ‘none’ and click use. This is a really wierd change…

  11. PLEASE remove Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from my computer.

    The unsolicited imposition of Acrobat Reader DC on my iMac has created nothing but problems for me. I am comfortable only with certain functions on the computer and the unwanted changes to my PDF files has caused a high level of frustration.

  12. Eraser drawing tool

    The eraser drawing tool slowly removes highlights and drawing lines and this problem makes you nervous, please fix this important problem.
    Of course, adding an option to erase all lines and highlights in one go to the eraser is another suggestion.

  13. Thumbnail Preview not working with Adobe Version 2021.007.20099 using Windows Explorer

    12-02-21 - I just noticed that the Thumbnail Preview is not working on .PDF's that were recently created. The older files created with the older version of Adobe DC are still viewable.

    Adobe Acrobat Reader DC in german, locked in, on Windows, hp laptop

    Steps to reproduce the issue:

    1. copy any greek letter
    2. ad a commentbox (Textfeld hinzufügen)
    3. Paste the greek letter into the comment box
    4. tipe any letter on the keyboard
    5. greek letters appear (just when writing into a textbox)

    The same works for symbols as well. The keyboard then changes to symbols.

  15. Bug report ... x2

    There is an obvious and consistent bug in Reader DC. When you enter the page X that you want to go to in the X/Y display in the ribbon, you have to do it TWICE. (The first time it self-destructs.) Admittedly this is a minor annoyance, but it makes Adobe look a bit silly and unprofessional. The second bug ... when I check that I have the latest version of Reader, the whole shebbang crashes! (No way would I buy a paid-for copy of this!)

I am always bomborded with new products that make it hard to find the product that I am paying for .... Adobe needs to listen to their customers!

  17. Free Form Highlighter - Straight Line Option

    When highlighting scanned documents, would be very helpful to have a key stroke option to force the tool to highlight a straight line. Acrobat will currently do this automatically for short/very straight segments. Please consider adding option to hold down a key (e.g., shift, ctrl, etc.) while using the tool to force a straight line rather than truly free form - which can be very messy and unprofessional in appearance depending on the context.

  19. Allow users to change colour of search highlighter

    When I use Adobe the CTRL F search function of Adobe Acrobat DC, I often find it hard to see where on the page the item I'm searching for is being highlighted. The highlighter colour that Adobe uses is a light grey/blue and it simply doesn't stand out enough. Very often, I'm searching for a single character and the documents I'm proofreading such as reports and brochures often have a coloured background, making it even harder to spot that pesky highlighter! It seems so simple to me that there should be a way for users to opt for a bright…

  20. Change drawing tool pen tip

    Use a circle tip for the drawing/annotating tool. Right now, it's a square and this makes the letters look jagged (as compared to the circle tip in OneNote for example)
