  3. Bug: Acroread Plugin causes Firefox to hang and later the whole system crashes

    ..when loading this document:
    https://www.unesco.de/fileadmin/medien/Dokumente/Wissenschaft/WWDR_2018_infographic.pdf

In Adobe Acrobat Reader DC the file is displayed correctly. Using the browser plugin the page starts in white, sometimes there's a flickering in white and black extending to the whole screen. Later the system stalls and other applications report memory problems. I was unable to make a screenshot as the system was not navigateable anymore

  5. We are using Adobe Reader 21.001.20145 (32 bit) Optional update, Mar 10, 2021 and Office 2013 Version 15.0.5275.1000 (32 bit) on Windows Server 2012 R2 with all updates installed (March 2021)

The error occurs after sending an email (successfully) using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 21.001.20145. If you then close Acrobat Reader, the program crashes with the error 32BitMAPIBroker.exe (see screenshot attached).

The problem does not occur with an older version, fe. 2020.006.20034 of Acrobat Reader .

The same problem existed before, here is the reference to it

    https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/sending-mapi-mail-via-send-button-still-works-but-when-closing-the-reader-it-will-crash/td-p/11370238

  6. I use Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 to view pdfs because it loads pdfs very quickly, and is smooth and responsive; it takes less than 5s to open 300MB+ pdfs.

Installed Adobe Reader recently because I needed the Fill & Sign function. I use Reader to Fill & Sign pdfs while viewing other pdfs with Edge.

After the installation, Edge takes more than 15s to open a pdf, even with small pdfs under 1MB. It has also become laggy. Chrome isn't affected though.

Completely closing Adobe Reader and reopening a pdf with Edge again solves this issue. It's a workaround…

  8. I just purchased the Adobe Acrobat PDF Pack...the UPGRADED one...fotr $ $18 per year. And it does not convert ACSM files to PDF. That is not good and not functional. Please fix it and please let me know when it is done. Thank you.

  9. Hello. We have a situation where a Windows protocol handler product is used to open documents from an EDRMS. At some point Adobe has apparently changed how it opens links. Now it simply passes a link to the system's default browser on the command line. As as some browsers (notably Chrome and recent builds of Edge which are based on Chromium) don't handle protocol handler URLs from the command line, this style of link now fails to activate.

Links will be of a form similar to example://12345/open but I think this is an issue for all Windows protocol handlers.

  10. If using a PC with NVidia graphic cards, hardware acceleration is automatically deactivated if protected mode on startup is active. This slows down 3D PDFs significantly.

Deactivating Protected Mode on Startup allows for hardware acceleration again.

  11. It would be nice to have a 'save all closed tabs'. Then I can re-open these on the next session. Unfortunately, this option is still not available.
Google has such extension called OneTab. Something similar on Adobe Reader would be great!
This has been requested by several others (see in comments https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac/suggestions/31145458-save-all-tabs-with-one-click)

Once you re-start, you should just be able to re-open the whole bunch of pdf's that you closed before with one click

  12. Following bug has been introduced with a recent Adobe Reader (or Windows?) update. It affects all our customers.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a 64 Bit C# application (32 Bit Works)
    2. In the application, use ActiveX, or WebBrowser control and open/navigate to "C:\documentname.pdf"

    Expected result: PDF shows up

Actual result: Screen stays gray. In the Windows Error Reporting you will see that AcroPDFImpl64.dll has crashed.

It is very important for us, because our customers rely on this functionality and our software product is currently not useable due to this bug.

Please contact me through email info at hickelsoft.de .…

  14. When reading a book from the adobe document cloud, it's always a necessity to have an internet connection. But sometimes it could really help if there's an option to make the file available offline, synced to the latest changes. We can always save the file locally, but that would not help to sync the changes like notes/highlights made on the file to other devices.

  15. I share PDFs to clients and they correctly receive the email and click the button link which displays the shared PDF.
I'm sure that in the past I've received email notifications whenever they have viewed the file. (The status of the PDF then updates in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC desktop app to say 'VIEWED' or 'OPENED'.)
Recently I've had no notifications and no updates and yet the client HAS received and viewed the PDF. Through much testing, I've worked out that the notifications/updates only trigger if the client is signed in to Adobe (with an Adobe ID) which I find…

  16. I am a professor of Ancient Greek, and use many documents that use polytonic Greek fonts. For some reason, when I copy-paste from PDFs opened in Adobe Reader on a Mac (no problems on a PC!), one particular character doesn't get copies (ἀ). Many similar characters are just fine (e.g. ἁ, ᾶ, ά, ἂ etc). When I open the same files with other programs/browsers on the Mac, there are no issues. I know this is hyperspecific, but I wanted to bring it to your attention.

  18. It seems that after updating to Big Sur, I cannot save files locally on my desktop from a remote server. When I open the file off the server and then go to save as to my desktop, I get an End of File was reached unexpectedly error. I am running Reader version 21.001.20155. This error does not happen on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 so I am not sure if this is something Adobe or Apple has to fix. I will be filing a separate ticket with Apple on this matter. Thank you

  20. Concerning the window "Recent opened" or "last viewed", I am not sure of the name since my language version is polish.
I had a file on the list, that I wanted to view again. Unfortunately it was on a share that was not connected at the moment.
Acrobat Reader could not open it, and it removed it from the list. I connected the share, but I lost the possibility to open the file since it was not on the list anymore. I had to find it again, what was really time consuming.
The file should be kept on the list…
