1. Acrobat Reader DC - latest update for Win 10 2004 locks up

   Execute most recent AR DC (32-bit), click on any of the recently opened PDF files from list, file opens and content displays, then AR DC locks up, requiring use of Task Manager to kill it.
   Error message shows in popup window:

2. AIP-encrypted PDF files may not open

   Hello.
   I installed the AIP plugin on Acrobat Reader DC(version: 2020.013.20066) and now I can view labeled PDFs.

   However, if you open the PDF file many times, it may not open properly.

3. [FEEDBACK] "send report" floater doesn't recognize W10 default Mail app

   when clicking "help" > "generate system report" > "send report", the dialog that opens is completely outdated and not usable.

   it doesn't recognize the default Mail app on Windows 10, it just prompts me to use a web service like yahoo or gmail.

   besides that, the WHOLE adobe reader program is outdated. i'm 1000% sure it has code that is more than 10 years old and it definitely needs to be rewritten from scratch.

4. Adobe Reader bug when using Fill & Sign function

   We are using Adobe 2020.013.20066 and all our team experience the same bug. When entering a text block using Fill & Sign; the entered text not only appears on the page where it was originally entered but it then 'appears' on random page throughout the document.

   Attached example shows screenshots from a document pasted into a word file.

6. Save PDF's to a topic (Like chrome groups)

   Lets you open a set of PDF's with one click of a button.
   You can add PDF's to this 'topic' or 'bookmark folder' allowing you to open every PDF you had been using for a certain task.

   E.G: Add all lecture notes from a subject to a topic. Open all of them with one click.

7. Screen Filter

   I guess this falls under UI? I'm ADHD and it would be SUPER helpful to have a feature where I can dim the screen except for an area I'm currently reading. I read a lot of professional articles and when I go to write a note I completely lose my place. It could be just a static section and as I scroll the section stays the same so I'm effectively moving my page through it. I can cope if I print out the pages, but articles are frequently 12+ pages each and I'd rather save the paper and be able to "filter" digitally.
   If you're feeling really fancy, maybe make it so the size and location of the filter can be changed.

9. Gray outlines around edges of transparent areas in embedded raster images

   This issue is best illustrated with an example.

   I generated a 5x5 png test image (test1.png) with transparent background and a 1 pixel wide green strip through the middle, embedded it into an svg (test1.svg), converted it to a pdf using inkscape (test1.pdf) and then viewed it in Acrobat Reader DC on windows 10, downloaded and installed today (2020-01-27). The result is shown in the attached image test1_acrobat_windows.png.

   Notice how the green band fades first to gray, then to white, instead of fading directly to white. The same pdf file rendered with PDF.js looks like one would expect, as seen in test1_out_pdfjs.png, which looks just like the svg file does.

   The gray border goes away if the original png has a white background instead of a transparent background. The corresponding files for this case are test2.png (raw image), test2.svg, test2.pdf and test2_acrobat_windows.png.

   This test case is of course a bit contrived, but this behavior has real-world consequences. For example, a pdf figure that includes a raster contour plot with lots of thin colored curves on transparent background, will appear desaturated, especially as one zooms out.

   My guess is that the transparent pixels have a black (but invisible) color, and that the interpolation formula uncritically interpolates R, G, B and A between #00ff00ff and #00000000, resulting in intermediates like #00800080, which when alpha composited with white gives #80c080, a slightly green shade of gray. To avoid this happening, I think one would need to alpha-composite before interpolation instead of after.

   Since I could only attach a single image to the post (even though it looked like I could upload multiple in the submission form), and the form crashed when I tried to upload a zip file containing them all, I have uploaded the zip file to the following address instead:

10. translation error in german version

    As a suggestion of Improvement, I just want to let you know there is a translation error in the german version. "Working on it" when searching in a large document doesn't translate to "Daran arbeiten..:" in this context. It has no meaning. You should consider renaming it to something like "In Arbeit"...

13. Adobe Reader for Windows IE plugin not allowing ability to send Outlook email from open inbrowser PDF when using share button

    This is not an idea, it's a bug report. So when you try to use the "Share" button and "Send As attachment" via an open Adobe plugin PDF file in Internet Explorer, since the latest Office/Outlook update, Adobe is unable to open Outlook as the default mail client. It throws an error trying to open a new email. The next time I look at it I'll grab a screenshot of the error and attach it. It seems that the Adobe plugin for IE in particular does not work well with IE and the latest Outlook version right now.

    go to preferences > security (enhanced) > enable protected view for ALL Files & run in appcontainer.

    i downloaded a pdf from my bank with my card statements and double clicked it.
    i opened the search box and tried to search for something, clicking somewhere in the app window, freezes the entire app and won't respond and must be forced closed.

    this behavior has never happened even on older v11 versions with protected view enabled.

    the app shouldn't freeze when searching with protected view enabled.

16. When there are more than a page of recent documents, Adobe Reader opens unresponsive

    For the last few days, if I have more than a page of recent documents, when I open Adobe Reader, it immediately becomes unresponsive.

    I then have to open Adobe Reader by double clicking on a PDF document and clear the recent document list. Opening Adobe Reader this way means that it doesn't try to load the thumbnails for the recent documents, which is what I assume is the problem. Adobe Reader will then open correctly until the recent files list gets too big.

    As a workaround, I have just set the "Documents in recently used list" to 10 which will hopefully solve this. Prior to this it was set to 100.

    When I've closed Adobe Reader when it has been unresponsive this has generated a Microsoft error report, so you should be able to track these down and get the error information.

19. Make the hand pointer larger and more visible in documents

    As a result of COVID, we are now forced to have virtual tribunal hearings and present testimony in PDF via screen sharing.

    Witnesses often have to point out something in an exhibit - a sentence or paragraph or a point on a map and it is difficult for viewers to see the hand tool because it is too smaller to be easily visible and may not have sufficient contrast with document colors to stand out.

    At in-person hearings, it was possible for a witness to stand up a point with their hand to an item on the main display screen for the hearing. The virtual format does not allow this.

    Having the ability to adjust the size and/or color of the cursor would help hearings proceed more smoothly by making it easier for witnesses to point out specific items more clearly..
