Disappointing
I have been wrestling with 'AdobePro', trying to edit a document which requires updating. The original Word Document is long lost (10+ years on from its creation) & the best electronic copy I had was a 'Printers'' file which I managed to 'convert' to a PDF. So I don't have the option to simply go back to the 'original'.
Every time I hit 'Save' on the document, which I learned to do regularly many years ago, Adobe seems to randomly 'Group' items (generally text/object boxes) together, so that they can no longer be individually manipulated. So I went looking for answers in the 'Help' section. I can see a number past questions of a similar nature dating back almost 10 years. Unfortunately, they're all 'locked' so that one can't comment on the issue or request further information, & it seems Adobe hasn't seen fit to fix the issue. Almost all of them have a fairly smart-arsed, smug, condescending answer from someone either close to or within Adobe, who obviously has far greater capacity than us mere mortals, saying that Acrobat/PDF's were never meant to be used for this purpose, etc., & all one need do is 'simply' use Java Script, Yada Yada. But it's not the least bit helpful.
What I really can't understand is that Adobe obviously knows about the issue, & from the sound of it could easily fix it, or provide some kind of 'work around', yet over almost 10 years hasn't bothered to.
Both disappointing & frustrating. =-(
