Filled form values visible in web viewer and thumbnail but missing from downloaded PDF
Observed October 1, 2026 in Acrobat on the web (acrobat.adobe.com), Google Chrome on macOS. Exact browser/OS versions not recorded.
Issue: Filled text fields and selected checkboxes are visible in the web viewer, but the downloaded PDF contains empty values for the newer entries. The user also observed that the saved-document thumbnail showed the completed form. This affected eight separate PDFs based on the same fillable form template; unrelated templates have not been tested.
Workflow where the issue occurred:
1. Open a fillable PDF in Acrobat web and enter text and checkbox selections.
2. Confirm that those entries appear in the web viewer.
3. Download the PDF and open the local file.
4. On an affected document, also try Save a copy and Print this file.
Expected: The downloaded/copied/printed PDF includes the entries displayed in the viewer.
Actual: Newer text entries and checkbox selections are omitted, while existing prefilled information remains. Save a copy opened a new tab without the newer entries, and the print preview also omitted them. The filled thumbnail misleadingly suggested the entries were saved.
Verification: The downloaded PDFs were inspected locally with macOS PDFKit. Affected text widgets returned empty values and checked boxes returned Off, matching the blank rendering. The corresponding browser fields contained the expected text and checked states. Writing the captured values directly into local copies and reopening those PDFs preserved the values and rendered them correctly.
The underlying cause is not confirmed. Please investigate whether form edits are failing to persist into the PDF or whether download/copy/print uses a stale document state. Can you confirm whether this is a known issue, provide a reliable workaround, and advise how users can verify that cloud-saved form data has actually been committed?
