  1. We see in the last month/year a much bader update experience for reader than before. The formerly usable ftp-server is not actual anymore:
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/
And we see lots of customers where the function "Search for updates" inside Reader is GONE - even a clean NEW installation does not show it anymore! So what can be done if this position is gone in the help menu? And how can update enrollment be done better (actually we get the ARM folder on an updated PC and deply this packet afterwards, but this only works incremental - and if one version is missing…

  2. It's incredibly frustrating that a) the Adobe Document Cloud is so slow, and b) one cannot drag and drop files to folders. Organizing my PDFs has literally taken the whole day.

  3. Acrobat Reader allows to highlight text and then enter comments to the highlighted text into the separate panel on the right of the text. I use this feature a lot, when reviewing papers. It would be very handy for me if the comments in the right panel were somehow marked with the same colour as the highlighting in the text. Such feature would allow me easily navigate between the comments later, when making a summary: e.g. first selecting green comments, then red comments etc.

  4. According to:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/acrobat/kb/flash-format-support-in-pdf.html

"Playback of non-Flash media (excluding *.flv and *.swf) content in PDFs will continue to be supported."

I tested the sample-formatter-richmedia.pdf file in Acrobat Reader "Continuous Release 2020.009.20074" with Flash disabled and the video was not playable.

  5. Hello, I have found a bug. When in the following configuration:

    • Read Mode OR Fixed-width scrolling
    • Viewing two pages at once (i.e. bottom of one page and top of the next page are both visible on screen)
    • Using the touchscreen of my 2-in-1 (HP Elitebook G4 if that's relevant) to highlight text

I am able to tap once to select a word on either page, but one one of the two pages, I am not able to alter that selection (i.e. grab the little handles at either end of the selection and expand it to include more text). Instead, it…

  7. Allow/enable Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to add the "Open...[file]" command to the Quick Tools toolbar.

I am using the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as of today 12/1/2020: 2020.013.20064.12623.
When you are constantly opening files, it becomes very tedious to constantly be required to click on the File menu and then select Open... to open files. An Open... command icon is a standard quick command on most other software I have seen. I am surprised and disappointed that no one thought of this or made this a standard command icon on this toolbar. In fact, there are…

  8. The arrow ignores the pre set color and is always placed red. You have to place an arrow and go into settings every time to change the color from red to f.e. black.

  10. Adobe Reader DC for Windows keeps files locked after they have been closed. It is necessary to completely close Adobe Reader DC for the files to be closed. Please fix this bug!

  12. Hello there,
Can you add a prompt for updates?
"Adobe Acrobat requires an update that will require a restart before using the application. Update and restart or install later?"

You see, when Acrobat updates automatically and I'm still running the app, I can still open things, but if Acrobat updates and I'm not currently running the app, then I can't open the app until I restart.
In terms of workflow this means that to access a PDF needed immediately for work I need to save and close everything, restart, then reopen everything. This took about 7 minutes without including reopening…

  14. Acrobat Reader is unable to correctly interpret some mountpoint reparse points (junctions). In practical terms: Acrobat Reader is unable to access PDF files from file systems mounted as directories and this is the root cause of the problem.

Junctions are special symbolic links that are used in many scenarios; an important one is when a file system is mounted as a directory rather than a regular drive. Junctions contain 2 paths: a “substitute” path which must be a path in the NTOS namespace (not a Win32 path) and a “print” path, which is to be used for display to…

  15. Edit >> Preferences >> Language >> Application Language.

Change to CHOOSE AT APPLICATION STARTUP

This setting is IGNORED: No way to choose at startup, and the setting reverts back to English.

Windows 10, 2004, Adobe Acrobat Reader ver. 2020.013.20064

    Reproduced on 2 different machines.

  16. For mouse based users. Remove the excess space, and reduce the size of toolbars and buttons, to maximise screen space available for the document.

  17. Clients with Windows 10 1809 or more (or Win2019) trying to access a PDF via a DFS that is stored on a Windows server 2019 server are not able to open more than 1 pdf.

Can this please be fixed as Windows Sever 2019 is being used more widely.

  18. I have a Microsoft Word file that has custom page size specified in the layout (specifically width 6.14" height 9.14"). There are also custom margins. When I convert to pdf via File > Print > Microsoft Print to PDF a pdf file is created but the page size is not correct. A pdf file is created that is 8.5"x11" not 6.14"x9.21". After trying to debug and spending 6+ hours with Microsoft tech support, there seems to be a problem on the Adobe side when the Word file is passed to Adobe to be converted into a pdf. I have noticed…

  19. The DFS bug has shown it's head again. Win 2019 servers offering DFS fileshares to Win10 clients will no longer allow multiple PDFs to be opened from the OS interface, because of Protected Mode.

Any other combination works fine (non-Win2019, non-Win10, non-DFS shares, disable Protected Mode).

Now that the vastly popular Win 2008r2 is out of support, many more organizations are upgrading to Win 2019. Disabling Protected Mode via registry GPO is a poor workaround.

    Please fix!

  20. It is already extremely annoying to hide elements in Acrobat.

For reasons only known to your idiot design team, you persist in the view that the UI MUST BE RESET ON EVERY DOCUMENT LOAD.

I read > 30 PDFs in a DAY. FOR EVERY ONE, I have to hide elements of the UI (typically the left side). EVERY F*** PDF.

Today I find that hitting Ctrl-Home re-displays the full left bar.
    WHY.
WHO THINKS THIS IS A GREAT IDEA - Lets re-purpose a standard document navigation key into a UI state change.
PG UP to the top page does the…
