Thank you for your valuable feedback.For files shown in recent files list, we do not show any files opened from temporary locations (example, from email attachments) in recent files list. This is by design, to avoid other potential issues when user performs actions on such files.
Can you share an example of opening files via API so that we can check that?Thanks,

Could you please share one such file where the problem is reproducible, to help us investigate this further? Have you set any advanced optimization options while reducing file size?

1. What is the operating system (Windows/Mac), version, Adobe product where you are facing this issue? If it is Adobe Acrobat, please mention the exact version.
2. Is this a new problem that you have started encountering recently, after any update?
