An error occurred while saving the comment Amboo Srivastava commentedHi Fabio
Sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing. Could you please provide some more information for us to investigate it further and resolve it?
1. Is this happening with all files or any specific file? Would you be able to share it with us if it is a consistent crash?
2. What is the workflow you are doing in Acrobat? Does it crash on just opening the PDF?
3. What is the platform (Windows/Mac) and Acrobat version? Thanks,

An error occurred while saving the comment Amboo Srivastava commentedGreat.
Can you try changing the CEF_DIR path to point to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\acrocef_2, and check if works for you?An error occurred while saving the comment Amboo Srivastava commentedFor Acrobat 64-bit, please check the following path -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\Installer for CEF_DIR path.Does it have the same folder path as you shared below (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\acrocef_2)?
An error occurred while saving the comment Amboo Srivastava commentedHello,
We are investigating the issue you have started facing with the latest Acrobat update. Would like some more information from you -Could you please check what is the folder path shown in "CEF_DIR" key at the following registry -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\Installer?
and if that folder path actually exists on your machine? To check the above registry, please go to Start->type "regedit" and press <ENTER> key. This will open registry editor.
To help identify if this is indeed the culprit, could you please try changing the value of "CEF_DIR" registry path to the folder that exists on your machine. Look for a folder path like "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\acrocef_x" where x is the number that exists on your system. It will be something like acrocef_1 or acrocef_2. Please let us know if this fixes the issue.
Thanks for your patience,

An error occurred while saving the comment Amboo Srivastava commentedHi Tim
Thank you for your valuable feedback. For files shown in recent files list, we do not show any files opened from temporary locations (example, from email attachments) in recent files list. This is by design, to avoid other potential issues when user performs actions on such files.
Can you share an example of opening files via API so that we can check that? Thanks,

Since the issue has been resolved, closing this thread here.
An error occurred while saving the comment Amboo Srivastava commentedGreat to know that it works for you.
For the blank screen, can you please try restarting Acrobat application once? Before you open Acrobat again, please check there are no processes like "AcroCEF" or "AcroCEF helper" in task manager (Windows)/activity monitor (Mac). If there are any such processes, please try killing those before relaunching Acrobat.
Let us know if that helps.
An error occurred while saving the comment Amboo Srivastava commentedHi Moritz
We looked further into this, with the testfiles you provided. We would like to let you know that there is an option in Acrobat Advanced Optimization dialog, as shown in attached snapshot, which needs to be checked while performing optimization, to get reduced file size. For this, launch Acrobat and go to Optimize PDF->Advanced Optimization->Discard User Data and check the option “Discard private data of other applications”. Optimizing the testfile you shared with us, we got a PDF of ~600KB.
Could you please try the mentioned setting and see if that works for you?
Thanks,

Hi Kevin
Thanks for sharing this with us. Could you please let us know Acrobat/Reader and OS version? Please try these steps and see if you can use add signature functionality -
1. Close Acrobat/Reader application
2. Go to task manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) and close any processes by name of AcroCEF/RdrCEF
3. Try launching Acrobat/Reader again and see if it works
This is a known issue and we are working on a fix for it in the next update.
Thanks for your patience,
