  1. We are writing to report a bug we have identified in Adobe Acrobat related to PKCS#7 digital signatures when signing without attaching the revocation status via CSP.
    Issue Summary
When creating a PKCS#7 signature without adding the revocation status, the resulting signature is invalid.
    Root Cause Analysis
After thorough investigation, we believe the issue originates in Adobe Acrobat's handling of the CSP calls. We logged that the function CPSetHashParam is called 63 times during the signing process, and an incorrect hash from the file is being passed. This results in an invalid signature being produced.
    Workaround
    We have identified that…

  3. We provide PDF reports to our customers with an image of our signature on it. I want to be able to protect them so people can't edit the form and more importantly copy our signature. But it's inconvenient for us and others to not be able to copy text after protecting the PDF. Please separate this security option.

  4. Acrobat produces /OC[0.858826 0.203918 0.145096] when a new redaction annotation is created. This appears to be an erroneous copy of the /C entry from the same annotation. Per Table 166 of the ISO standard, /OC is supposed to be a dictionary not an array. So it's not even well-formed, much less correct.

The /QuadPoints [] also looks dubious. It should be absent, not empty?

In terms of efficiency, a number of other entries are present which have no effect since other entries over-ride them. For example the /DA when /OverlayText is the empty string. And in fact the OverlayText itself.…

  5. Product: Adobe Acrobat Pro Vers 2026.001.21691
    OS: macOS 26.5 (Tahoe)
Severity: High — blocks users from sending email in Apple Mail with no clear indication of the cause.

    Summary

When a user creates a new digital ID through Acrobat's digital signature workflow, Acrobat installs the resulting self-signed certificate and its private key into the macOS login Keychain without adequately disclosing that (a) the key will be visible to other applications on the system, and (b) Apple Mail will subsequently attempt to use it to sign every outgoing message. This produces a confusing, seemingly unrelated failure in a different application (Mail)…

  6. When using a certificate through either the Digitally Sign or Certify (Visible Signature) options, multiple errors occur that prevent the signature from being successfully applied, even after completing the signing process. In some instances, the signature appears to process and load but then disappears as if it was never applied. Other times, error messages are displayed saying that the document is open by another user (when it is not), the byte range is invalid, or there is an error displaying the signature. In some cases where an error says the signature cannot be displayed, closing and reopening the PDF may…

  7. When I click requestion E-Signatures, I type in the person I'm sending it to and click more option to extend the date out further. When I click more options it takes me right back to the document, and I learned that I have to wait about 10 seconds before doing it again for it to work. Once I learned this, I just started waiting 15 seconds after typing the signer in before clicking more options. I send hundreds of these a week and it's a big-time suck to wait on every single one of them. It used to work normal,…

  8. Acrobat Reader frequently asks if I'd like to enable all features despite the security risk of doing so. How about being specific about which features I'd be enabling and what security risk they impose? Why would I want to enable features that the application itself warns poses a potential security risk. That seems foolhardy. How about offering a Chinese menu of user selectable features that could potentially be enabled with check boxes, thereby enabling the user to opt in/out, preferably with a sensible set of defaults...

  10. I have an ACC subscription, and have only logged in to Acrobat with an account that has one. Acrobat regularly prompts me to "upgrade my subscription" or "reactivate access," significantly interrupting workflow as I have to quit the program, try to log out and back in again, or other troubleshooting steps. This is one of many reasons I don't use Adobe products because I like them, but because there's no suitable alternative.

  11. Currently if a PDF file is digitially signed, we cannot change the Purview sensitivity label without impacting digital signature.

We are looking to have a feature developed to modify / create sensitivity label without impacting digital signature in the pdf's.

This feature is required. because we are required to apply specific sensitivity labels when documents are shared externally.

  12. When I try to digitally sign a PDF in Adobe Acrobat for Windows using a self-created Acrobat Digital ID stored as a PFX file, I get the following error message:

“Creation of this signature could not be completed.”

This happens when I start the digital signature process and Acrobat loads the Digital ID / certificate selection window.

The confusing part is that the signature can still be created. The Digital ID list loads, I can continue signing, the PDF is saved, and when I reopen the PDF Acrobat says:

“Signed and all signatures are valid.”

    The error usually appears only…

  13. When selecting from the menu "Use a certificate" no any options for signing appear in the left hand side panel. Before, it was possible to perform signing using selection to place the stamp, and timestamping. None of those options is available after the recent update. That is a critical bug and MUST be addressed!!!!

  14. When submitting to authorities one of the requirements is to hand in a flattened PDF with months/years of work combined. This needs to be executed by merging the existing signed off PDF files to one file without losing the integrity of any of the signatures or properties. What would be needed for this to be possible is to be able to keep the "lock" on all documents and combine so no changes will be made in the documents without other parties knowing about it. Unfortunately making a portfolio or only signing off after the merge is not sufficient and doesn't…

  15. I got tax return statement from my accountant and opened it in Adobe acrobat, but now it keeps glitching and asking for the password multiple times. I already put in the password before the tab opened and now with the document open it asks for password but then nothing happens in the text box when I type!
If I try to type without seeing the password in the text box, the app freezes.

other solution, failed on receivers end: Opened doc within email app on iphone to sign documents -> but then receiver couldn't open signed form

  16. Cant easily digitally sign a document on multiple pages. You need to sign each page of the document, then close them. Then combine them. Then sign it. Then close it. Then open it. Then edit. Then finally after your hair falls out you sign each page. This is the most cumbersome process.... It just awful, please fix this.

  17. I works paperless. Widows File Explorer allows previews of documents without having to open them. PDF are quicker to view than Word documents. However, PDF documents from emails or the internet now have a Blocked status that prevents them being previewed. This means you have to unblock them all which takes time and they don't become immediately previewable. This is very very frustrating and time consuming.

I thought i had found a fix at work but it didn't work. I don't seem to have the same options on my personal laptop even though operating systems are the same.

  18. I created a protected PDF document with the /DocMDP value set to 2, which according to the specification should allow adding new signatures.
When opening this file in Adobe Reader, the option Digitally Sign is greyed out, even though in the document security properties signing is shown as allowed. In practice, signing works correctly in applications provided by qualified signature vendors, but not in Adobe Reader.

  19. Although we understand that the option to view login logs is currently unavailable, we would like to request this feature be considered for future enhancements.
Specifically, enabling login logs visibility for Admins—or alternatively, providing a mechanism to fetch these logs upon request—would be extremely helpful for investigations and security audits.
Such logs play a critical role in:

    Identifying login patterns and anomalies
    Resolving access-related incidents efficiently
Strengthening enterprise security and compliance efforts

Implementing this feature would greatly assist enterprise customers in maintaining robust security practices. Please let us know if this request can be forwarded to the relevant product team…

  20. Proposed Functionality:
    - PDFs would contain digital signature fields in the same position (XFA or AcroForm).
    - The user clicks the digital signature field on one PDF and is then able to select multiple other PDFs to sign in the same location.

This functionality currently exists in Foxit PDF Editor and has proven to be a valuable tool for users.

    Benefits:
    - Reduces task time significantly.
    - Improves efficiency for workflows involving repetitive document signing.

While Adobe offers online services for signing, this request is specific to the local application.
