My Android Reader can invert the display (white text on dark BG). Can the Desktop app do the same, easy on the eyes?
In mobile Reader App, I can change the display to Night Mode (inverted color, white text on dark BG). Can I do the same in desktop Acrobat DC?
Please make it so.3 votes -
Bug in window resize if view has been rotated
Acrobat reader DC. Windows 7 x64 desktop.
Load a PDF (in my case some A1 building plans) into reader.
Rotate view 90 degrees.
Now re-size the reader application window by grabbing left or right edge.
You will see the bug - can't really miss it. Document suddenly reverts 90 degress and stretches then rotates back when you let go.
Not fatal, just unsightly.1 vote -
Remove the extra step of saving
Since using Adobe Reader DC for PC, the last few updates have only increased the number of clicks required to do basic tasks. When saving a document, with either the CTRL + S key press or selecting Save from the file tree, there doesn't seem to be any necessity to have the window attached pop up. It's a similar feature to Office programs now, and really only makes the process take longer. Clicking on Choose a Different Folder just brings up the same save options we had in the past. This just creates more steps and wastes time.

Allow the Menu bar (F9) and toolbars (F8) to be hidden permanently
SUGGESTION
With the current version (2020.006.20034), these can be hidden but for the current session only. Put an option in settings to hide these interface elements globally.WHY THE FEATURE IS NEEDED
To maximize vertical screen real-estate; as most of the devices these days are shipping with widescreen displays.8 votes -
One button is too bad.
Dear sir/madam,
I use a lot of PDF files for my job. However, the version I use is 2015.020.20039. Because in recent releases, the buttons "Fit to window width and enable scrolling", "Fit one full page to window" and "View file in read mode" have been turned into one button. I have to open this button on every time. This is an extremely difficult use. Please give us the option of these buttons as single buttons as before. Thank you so much.

Ability to completely turn off collapsed sidebars
Please for goodness' sake give users the option to completely remove the left and right sidebars instead of merely collapsing them. For users using Reader, the vast majority of the time all they will want to do is only read a PDF, and many will want as much screen space as possible to do so.
For the average Reader user, in the left toolbar the only thing they may want is thumbnail or chapter view. This could be on the top toolbar, with the other options available on a drop down menu from that button if you really must keep…

add copy link location to adobe reader DC
(i guess someone asked long time ago. but seems buried alive)
add "copy link location" to adobe reader DC, when right click over a link in a pdf.
why? this is a standard feature in most 2020 windows applicatoin. if adobe does not do it, i go somewhere else. adobe reader dc is not the only pdf reader in the world.1 vote -

BUG: Can no longer close Reader window with COMMAND-W
Until recently, you could close the Adobe Reader window (the one showing Recent, Starred, Scans, etc down the left side) with COMMAND-W. While you can still use COMMAND-W to close a PDF file, inexplicably this function no longer works with the Adobe Reader window. In workflow this is ridiculously annoying; I hit COMMAND-W to close my PDF window but then I have to go hunting for the CLOSE button to click on for the Adobe Reader window. At least, I am assuming this is a bug; I can't imagine someone purposefully enabling this highly obnoxious and laborious "feature" into the…

4 pages view
should have more pages view example 4 or 6 pages per view as some users use big screen and they can easily fit them using this feature instead of trying to use the zoom function.
and perhaps to make the toolbar icons fit exactly and not have so much borders size1 vote -
Open PDFs in Read mode and full screen Thumbnail navigation
Hi. I would like to see in future versions two new improvments:
1) set the "read mode" as de default viewing when opening every PDF file, instead of having to press "Ctrl+H" each time (just add an option in Preferences);
2) create a new form of navigation throughout the file, a full screen thumbnail view, with page thumbnails side by side similar to what Adobe made with "Adobe Reader Touch" (too bad you discontinued that app) with a button shortcut to access it;Thanks

Bug: explorer window shadows disappear after opening Acrobat Reader DC
After opening Acrobat Reader DC (in a windowed mode, not in tabbed), it, for some mysterious reason, switches off the Windows 10 Explorer setting for windows to cast shadows. It results in focused folder windows becoming visually borderless, making it very difficult to work with them.
The problem was described here for Acrobat DC:
https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac/suggestions/38822896-bug-shadows-disappear-on-windows-10-explorer-wind
but it fully (and even more irritably) applies to Acrobat Reader DC, too.It seems that for some reason, Acrobat Reader changes (switches off) each time the inherent Windows setting which can be found in System > Visual Effects tab > Show shadows under windows…

Provide Reader with the Same Permission Capabilities Acrobat Has
When I click to link to a video clip, Acrobat Pro DC asks my permission since it might harm my PC, and it gives me a box to check to say 'No, don't ask me again'. Also, I can go to Edit > Preferences and say 'Always' grant permission for whichever available players are listed. That solves a serious problem for me since my PDFs have over 100 little video clips in them, and readers will hate having to give permission again and again and again. Unfortunately these capabilities exist only in Acrobat, not in Reader. When I click to…

F2 should not open web help
The key to open help is F1. It should not also be F2. I was using F2 for Discord/Push-to-talk, and now Acrobat Reader DC opens a web page every time.
Please restore the behaviour of the previous version of Acrobat Reader DC.

Copy html into password box
Please allow the ability to copy and paste html into the password box for a PDF document.
Most users copy and paste the password from an email, which will be in html format.
But the password box only accepts plain text so you can't copy and paste it from an email. You have to paste it first into a text file, and then copy and paste it from there which is just more time consuming than necessary.

hide Standard DC features
Can you please hide the Acrobat Standard features, or allow the user to hide them.
I appreciate you want to encourage users to purchase the license for Standard DC, but it is mis-leading showing the features on the right side of Reader DC if you can't even use them.
Having the option to hide these features from Reader DC would be good

Improve UI Customization - Make the comments toolbar stay open automatically no matter what
In my case, I'm perfectly happy with the way Adobe chose to implement this (I haven't actually tried the upgrade yet - I'm just responding to other comments here). In addition to documents that come to me with comments I need to see, I open plenty of random PDFs that have no comments, and in those cases I wouldn't want the pane to take up space.
But I suppose if Adobe wants to make everyone happy, in a future upgrade they could expand the setting to be a three-item radio selection instead of a checkbox:

Bug: Ctrl-H (Read Mode), Ctrl-0 (Zoom to Page), ..., Esc (exit full screen mode) FREEZE
The sequence of UI actions below causes a repeatable freeze for me.
(Acrobat Reader DC Continuous Release 2020.006.20042
Windows 10 Home version 1909 build 18363.815)- Open a pdf
- Ctrl-H (Read Mode) [use full height of screen]
- Ctrl-0 (Zoom to page) [that's a zero, not a letter]
- (optional): read document
- Esc (leave full-screen mode)
Expect: exits full screen view, restore document in pane with bookmark sidebar
Actual: exits full screen view, but freezes. Window still occupies full screen. Content areas are BLACK. Menubar and tabs reappear, but tabs are unresponsive. Right sidebar border appears, but not left sidebar.
Workaround: after freeze,…
