  1. eye tracking tool is used in cameras. if user agree to be tracked, document can be linked to camera of laptop or tablet or mobile phone. so document reading becomes more interactive. this information is stored in the document and this tracking info can be tagged to document and emailed to acrobat document creator (teacher). who can analyze this data, will determine that you have read the document or not, where you felt the difficulty and it will help him to plan the lesson/ flipped class room session. it can be used for assessment of learning in e-learning session. this…

  2. Now when you download a file from the web and have Acrobat installed as the default handler, it automatically downloads the file on Windows to C:\Downloads, not to the actual configured downloads folder, which might be on another drive or in a different location. Acrobat should have a configuration which A) allows you to configure a default location, or B) Asks everytime, defaulting to the last, where to save the file.

The amount of time spent Saving-As then deleting the originally downloaded file is stupid.l Just let us put the file where we want it from the start.

    All browsers…

  3. As stated in the title, Acrobat is repeatedly seizing window focus and popping back on top of the other windows when it opens another file.

This even happens when running actions on an entire folder of pdfs.

I have been running a set of action sequences on a folder of about 400 files for the last few days.

My original intention was to start the sequence and then continue to work on other portions of the project while the pdf's were modified and saved.

Instead, acrobat grabs the mouse and keyboard back every time it opens the next file (about…

  6. The default option in Adobe Acrobat is the 'Select Tool'. For production purposes I never use this tool, I would prefer to have the 'Marque Zoom' as default.
It should be possible to set this in the preferences.

  7. Setting custom menu with often used items (top bar or side panel) and omitting other common or unused tools should be intuitive. Once made the user menu can be set in other registered app system UI's with a checkbox so all systems can inherit user configured menu. Or all configurations are cloned across networks if separated by location, i.e. desktop-portable or desktop-desktop at second location. Also, multiple user choices or mod and share capability. U.I. should conform to personal workflows and allow for customizations that live beyond updates and re-installs. Simple look-up file stored on Adobe servers is applied when…

  8. My predecessor was emailed a set of documents (PDFs) and he must have dragged/dropped the files onto our server because I cannot open the PDFs. When I do, Adobe Acrobat pops up a window that says "...could not open [file name] because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
To create an Adobe PDF doc, go to the source application. Then print the document in Adobe PDF."

    I don't have access to my predecessor's email nor do I have…

  9. I publish gov't docs for public review. For reasons too boring to explain, I now have to put the figures that go with the text in an appendix way at the end of the pdf and not just on the next page where they are referenced in the text. So now the figures are at the end of the pdf. I want to Acrobat to add a feature that would open a new window for a link within one pdf. This would allow the public to clink on a link to a figure, open the figure in a separate window…

  10. Make the giant splash screen close when documents close. Also make it default to a SMALLER size if I have resized it in a previous session. Stop making your software overbearing.

  11. I've set 'page zoom to defualt width' in 4 different areas and i can't get the desired behavior of keeping the same zoom level when I click betwen chapters (short of manually setting the click>go to behavior for each chapter). Main properties doesn't have an effect and neither does setting the default page zoom from the properties menu accessed from the side panel (with all the chapter links). The top bar page zoom is reset after every chapter jump.

  12. Acrobat now defaults to scroll view.

Annoying, useless and a backward step from 1 page view.

And no way to changes settings, to use it the way it was.

  13. Get rid of new version. You have added so much eye candy that simple tasks have become difficult. Fire your staff and live off the royalties of your old version. Your harrassed users will thank you.

  16. Acrobat DC (Creative Cloud)
    Version: 2019.008.20074
    Windows 7 64bit

This has occurred since last update.

    1. Click on file icon to open.
    2. Acrobat crashes immediately.

    3. Open Acrobat first

    4. File opens as expected.

    5. Close a tab within Acrobat

    6. 'Home' screen shows a frozen image of closed file.

    7. Click on 'Tools' tab - works as expected

    8. Click on 'Home' tab - shows a frozen image of 'Tools' screen.

    9. Unable to view any recent files via the home screen.

Repair / reinstall has not cured this glitch!

  17. With the update, now there's another toolbar off to the right, taking up valuable space. Someone told you we're using this software to review and mark up documents, right? I want as much room as possible to go to the document so I don't have to be constantly scrolling and zooming in and out.

  19. The DC version is considerably more difficult to use and more complex. Continue supporting 11.x and to make it available as well. We all work different ways and some don't need or want the complexity you've included in DC.

  20. I sometimes approve multiple documents. They are all loaded in tabs. I use the "Comment" tool to stamp and then Fill and Sign to sign. Each time I move to a new tab I have to select "Comment" because my choice of tool is not persistent between windows. It should be.
