  1. In some documents, there is by coincidence background colors that are very close to the color that Acrobat uses to enhance the visibility of searched-for text.

In Acrobat preferences there is no way of changing this background color. For me, searched-for-and-found would be shaded a bright yellow. The default value is nice on a white background, but no use on documents that happen to have a similar (slate blue) color background.

  4. In mobile Reader App, I can change the display to Night Mode (inverted color, white text on dark BG). Can I do the same in desktop Acrobat DC?
    Please make it so.

  5. Because I have to work many times on a multitude of opened pdf files that I need to keep open for days in a row, I think a feature to restore previous session of opened documents (just like Firefox or Google Chrome) would be really helpful!

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us for you conerns.

We already have it implemented in Reader.
Do “File” → “Reopen PDFs from last session.” And that should restore all the pdfs that were present in you last session at the time of Quiting the application.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
    Ayush Jain

  6. Hi. I would like to see in future versions two new improvments:
    1) set the "read mode" as de default viewing when opening every PDF file, instead of having to press "Ctrl+H" each time (just add an option in Preferences);
    2) create a new form of navigation throughout the file, a full screen thumbnail view, with page thumbnails side by side similar to what Adobe made with "Adobe Reader Touch" (too bad you discontinued that app) with a button shortcut to access it;

    Thanks

  7. Please for goodness' sake give users the option to completely remove the left and right sidebars instead of merely collapsing them. For users using Reader, the vast majority of the time all they will want to do is only read a PDF, and many will want as much screen space as possible to do so.

For the average Reader user, in the left toolbar the only thing they may want is thumbnail or chapter view. This could be on the top toolbar, with the other options available on a drop down menu from that button if you really must keep…

  8. As explained in this post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/get-rid-of-7-day-trial-after-rotate-from-context-menu-within-plug-in/m-p/12897117#M90403), we'd like to get rid of the pop up when a user clicks on the rotate buttons in the context menu.
In the base Adobe Reader it is possible to use other menu's, but when another piece of software uses the plug in, these menu's aren't available and users are left with either the rotate buttons which generate the pop up, or the only option Rotate to the right.
Please let the rotate buttons in the context menu act without the advert for the 7-day trial.
    TIA!

  9. Look, I get it. Reader DC is a free product Adobe would love to sell paid products/services. That's absolutely fine. But placing a toolbar button that suggests a basic feature such as rotate view may require the paid version/subscription is disingenuous at best. Seems a bit deceptive when it gets down to it. Not a fan Adobe!

  10. Any chance that Adobe Reader will be integrated with Microsoft Edge Chromium in a similar way Adobe Reader is integrated with Internet Explorer 11 via ActiveX? Users opening pdf in IE are not even aware they see Adobe with plenty of features. ActiveX is legacy technology and not supported by modern browsers but maybe Adobe plans some deeper integration with Microsoft? I'm working in corporate environment with 70 housand users and received feedback that Microsoft Edge built-in pdf reader cannot open many pdf-s created in Adobe products. So in Edge browser there is option to redirect PDF to Adobe reader by…

  11. Steps to reproduce the issue:
    1) Open any PDF
    2) Choose the hand tool (or select tool) from the toolbar user interface
    3) Close the PDF (progam does not need to close)
    4) Open the PDF again
    5) Note which tool is now chosen (it is not the one you changed to)

    Environment: Windows 7

Expected result: The setting to be remembered after closing the program or PDF and opening the program or PDF again next time.

Observed result: Changing from select to hand or hand to select setting in the toolbar UI (Toolbar Item:->Select and Zoom Tools)

    Working Function:…

  14. Many PDF documents contain internal links. When clicking on these, the user is taken to another part of the document. It would be incredibly useful to me and my colleagues if there was a 'preview link' option. Perhaps this could work by hovering the mouse over the link, and the preview to the link pops up in a small temporary window, allowing you to quickly view the link, without redirecting to a different page.

The motivation for this is as follows: In mathematical sciences, these internal links often refer to equations earlier in the document, which are being combined to…

  15. Is there a way to save multiple open documents to as a book mark? I often open multiple documents which are located in various places. It would be great to be able to save a session/project so that I can return to all those documents when I continue working on that project!

  17. Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) is a Microsoft rights management solution. Users of Azure Information Protection and other Microsoft Information Protection solutions can use Acrobat or Acrobat Reader to read labeled and protected content. Plug-in

want to view under each PDF's taps to view all MIP classification for easy usage.
similarly as Microsoft Office word Document
the MIP classification shows under the Ribbon.

    1. Open the attached document, which is a dishwasher manual, in Acrobat reader, and search for the word "floor". It will not be found. However, it's present in the document on page 6 in the bottom of the left column.

    2. In Reader, go to the page 6 and copy to clipboard the line beginning with "When the GREEN LIGHT"'; then open Notepad and paste. You will see the space in the middle of the word "floor".

So it looks like the text has a space in the middle, although the word appears in Reader without the space. This makes more difficult…

  18. Recently it appears that a "feature" was added to Reader DC such that whenever you open a PDF, the editing toolbar with a button to click for a free 7 day trial of Acrobat, which looks ugly and unprofessional. The client would have to click an arrow to the right to move it out of the way, or go into View-Read Mode to see the uncluttered document. Or use full screen which is unwieldy.

  19. If a company uses MIP to protect a PDF file and sends that file to an external consumer's (a user at an @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com, etc) email address, that user experiences an error when attempting to open the protected document as the Adobe MIP Plugin tries to log the user into the Adobe Inc Azure Active Directory and fails.

While the user can then dismiss the error message and still consume the content, this should be transparent and align with the experience of opening an MIP-protected Office document in the same scenario.
