An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedAlthough I agree with Mehmet that Acrobat lacks Arabic support in many of its options, however, I believe it is possible to enhance the option "Default Reading Direction" found in the Preference > Language.
Having said that, the user need to reset above Preference option later if a PDF with Latin content (Left-to-Right) is opened.

We already considered this request. We will update you once the team prioritise it and implement it.
Thanks.
An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedAdobe Team, please let us know whether the OCR for Arabic content will be released any time soon. I have two large Acrobat sales deals in the Middle East and Nort Africa that have been placed on hold due to the fact that Acrobat cannot OCR Arabic content.
Common team, we're all missing opportunities! An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commented@Amr Al-Halaby, totally agree with you.
Did you know "Sakhr Computer Co" in Kuwait had an Arabic OCR for decades, it is just we wish to see Adobe Acrobat supports Arabic OCR just like other languages.
An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedI'm writing this comment to applaud Adobe Acrobat team for considering Arabic OCR as "Planned" feature now.
Thank you!
Zaid Al Hilali supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedYou wouldn't believe how many prospect Acrobat clients are asking us about this feature. Government, Commercial, and Education clients in the Arab World, feel disappointed after buying Acrobat when they try OCR to find it doesn't support Arabic script.

An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedI believe the issue is fixable if the Acrobat development team would look at this test I made… Type Arabic in Fill & Sign, the letters are incorrectly disjointed, exit Fill & Sign environment, choose to Edit the PDF, and add any character to the sentence I typed in Fill & Sign, even when adding a simple space, you will see the characters joins normally as they should appear!
Here is a short clip demonstrated the above… https://youtu.be/Gy_zXLAODIsAn error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedSo sad to read "Anonymous" comment on the Fill & Sign issue with Arabic. I apologise to "Sandeep" whomever he is, and other programmers and developers in Acrobat team for the racist comments made.
You "Anonymous" didn't help us with your offensive comments, it saddens me more to see your comments associated with the iconic image of Ka'ba as non-muslims may think this is what Islam teaches us! الله يسامحك
An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commented@Ibrahimn Da'as,
Marhaba, It is only the "Fill & Sign" that doesn't support Arabic, while the normal PDF forms on the other hand supports Arabic very well. Just make sure to use "Prepare Form" feature in Acrobat to convert any scanned paper form, or any other form that you create in MS. Word or Adobe InDesign to PDF.An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commented@afra nasser, I suppose you're on Windows machine and that's why you have a fix. For me, on Mac I wasn't able to have neither Acrobat update nor Reader update to run after downloading them since both applications on my machine are updated to the latest version already.
An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commented@afra nasser, my Acrobat is already v.2018.011.20063 without using the patch. I tested once again by typing Arabic in the Fill & Sign environment, however the problem persists.
Can you explain the steps you took in details as much as possible? An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedGood on you Adobe. I got today a message that this issue is under review. I’m available for any testing.

An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedThanks Lisa for raising this matter. I totally agree that editing a PDF with Arabic content will mostly ends up corrupting most or all the text on the page/document.

An error occurred while saving the comment Zaid Al Hilali commentedEditing a PDF with Arabic content results in such a mess. Some times Acrobat will succeed to some extent in editing Arabic content but mostly it fails. It all comes to the font being used and how the PDF was created and from which application it was generated.
Diacritics (Tashkeel) are the tiny marks that goes on top or beneath main Arabic characters. In my test, I was able to add and edit Diacritics in Acrobat without issues with some Arabic fonts such as "Adobe Arabic".

I just tested to export to .csv file from Acrobat v.2023.003.20201
The same issue still persists where Arabic text shows as dots instead of a readable text.
