  1. Acrobat 2017 Pro: Indexer's "Stop Words" list is truncated to 199 words.

    Using Windows 10, Acrobat 2017 Pro.
    Adobe documentation says Acrobat's Stop Words list can be 500 words but my Preferences -> Catalog -> Stop Words (list box) is always truncated to 199 words if the Preferences dialog es exited then re-entered. And it can be shown that words manually entered beyond 199 words are not excluded from subsequent indexing operations; that is, they WILL be found in a case-sensitive search.

  3. Create software that allows you to manage pdf files much as you would in Photoshop Bridge and append notes to files without opening document

    Surprised that Adobe does not have pdf management software, or that features are not included in Acrobat, allowing user to sort, prioritize, append notes, etc. to pdf files without having to open, add comment, resave, etc.

  4. Alt text not showing in Acrobat DC when using .ai or .eps from InDesign

    When I place a vector file (ai, eps) in InDesign, enter alt text in "object export options", then export to pdf the alt text does not carry over into Acrobat DC. When I place a raster file in Indesign and follow the same steps, it does carry over into the pdf file. I had a software engineer take a look and he said that the information is in the pdf in the back end and should display the same as using the raster file. I'd like to use the vector as it gives a crisper version of the scientific figures.

    Hi

    Thanks for sharing the steps. Your problem looks to be an InDesign issue as they are unable to embed the alt text in the PDF.
    Would request you to post your issue in InDesign forum.
    There is nothing more we can do from Acrobat side.

  5. Tabs

    I like that tabs can stay open, this has been helpful to refer back to a previous pdf. However, I cannot close tabs without saving or declining... each individual one. This needs a "don't ask me again" feature.

  7. Illustrator Layer Export Maintain Layers and Sub-Layers

    Save a document with top level layers as well as sub layers as a PDF with sub layers in tact.

  8. Layer loading

    Multi-Layered PDFs that don't have to reload all content, hidden or otherwise, when the zoom level is changed. It would be a much better use of memory to only load what is visible at the time.

  9. Every time I close a PDF I am prompted to save it. Why is there a feature so you can turn this off.

    It is annoying that every PDF I open and print prompts me to save it. I am getting these from other people and do not save them. Why all of sudden is it doing this? It never did this before. Is it because of OS10? There should be a feature to turn this off. It wastes so much of my time as I deal with 100's of PDF's a month.

  10. when I create pdfs, they are no longer searchable

    when I create pdf documents from chrome, firefox, or Opera, I can no longer search them and enhance scans and ocr recognition don't work. Attached is an example.

  11. Provide the ability to color the tabs.

    I often woirk with groups of similar documents with long file names. It would make life much easier if I could visually look at a group and select the correct document to work on rather than hovering my mouse over the title of each document to see if it is the one I want.

  12. Please still create downloable User Guides for Acrobat in PDF format.

    It is still necessary I think that Adobe provides User Guides for their Acrobat 2017 products in PDF format. I like to view this when I have some free-time to read through. Having a PDF format of the user-guide is still very important to us.

  13. Cannot print and will not create boxes around OCR'd text.

    Acrobat DC is awful. Won't print, email or edit. How do I return to the earlier version I used?

  14. Read mode colors

    There is a problem with switching colors for reading and printing. There is no button whitch would allows easily switch between both modes. For example when I read book I would expect dark backgrpound and white letters in order to by not blinded by the huge area of default white background. For now I have to use Tools / Preferences / Accessibility / Document Color Options to set colorors which I need. Unfortunately it has influence on printing where white background is desired. So in consequence, I have to do a lot of changes of color mode by going through…

  16. Not all the text for a bookmark is displaying

    I have set bookmarks for custom styles in my Preferences. However, when I create the PDF, not all the text is displayed, particularly the numbering in some of my headings. Some of the numbering is displayed, while others are not. I checked the Word document and the correct styles are applied to all the text.

    Unfortunately, we cannot take your bug request at this moment given other high priority issues.
    Can you please explain why these numbering were so important (in the event we want to fix this in future) ?

  17. Adobe Pro DC Portfolios

    Hi there

    I was used to Adobe Pro 9/10/11 until last week when i was 'upgraded' to Pro DC as we are now using Windows 10. I believe Adobe Pro 11 is end of life too?
    I used Adobe Pro 11 to create portfolios which worked very well until i looked at Pro DC.
    Now the layout has changed so much that once you the portfolio has been created you cannot see the first page which was very helpful. Now all you see is the adobe logo.
    The various views have disappeared, 'grid' being my favourite.

    Hi

    We understand your concerns and appreciate your feedback. The lack of views in Acrobat DC is because we have dropped support of Flash due to security vulnerabilities in Flash.
    So currently, there is no other Acrobat version that would support those kind of views.
