Preview handler in Windows 10 locks PDF files if active on windows preview pane.
For some reason, we cannot delete PDF files store on a network because the preview handler locks the file. We have to hit the delete key which opens a windows prompt that the file is in use, then unselect the PDF file, and then click in the windows dialog to try again.

Problem continues with Windows 11. There IS a programmatic fix to this, and Adobe needs to address it. We just migrated from Nitro PDF to Acrobat Pro, and never ran into this problem with Nitro as our default PDF tool, and using the Nitro Preview Handler. Now with most users enabling Windows Explorer Preview, all PDF docs have to be renamed when saving, creating many versioning issues. I have users screaming for Nitro PDF after wanting Acrobat because of this one issue.

Agreed, 3rd party PDF programs do not have this issue

I should say we're using the latest version of Acrobat DC for teams (March 2019).

Adobe, this needs to be fixed - other preview handlers do not exhibit this behavior and work properly, this is a big annoyance for our users.
