  1. When reducing large PDF files that contain Links, Graphics and Type remove white lines from pixel misalignment

I am on an iMac running Mojave. Since I am a graphic artist, I create large Illustrator files that need to be converted to PDFs and emailed for proofing. However, when the files are optimized through Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, the resulting PDF has numerous white lines running through it. I would like to see a quick, efficient way to reduce files that are around 100mgs and still be sharp, clean files with no lines. I understand that they don't print, but my clients always question them and are skeptical when I try to explain that the lines won't print.…

  2. Combine Files - Closing w/out Saving Alert

On older verisons of Acrobat, when triggering the combine files function, if you exited and closed the app without combining or saving the files it would give you an alert. On DC it does not and ive accidentally closed out of a ton of times where I'm half way through moving files around, combining and then accidentally close it and have to start all over. Should be an easy feature to re-add.

Bug: Cannot edit the margins when printing "Multiple" in Acrobat Pro.

    1. Open a PDF file in Acrobat Pro.
    2. Select Print>Adobe PDF.
    3. Select Multiple.
    4. (Set whatever settings you want, example: Custom 1 by 2.)
    5. Click Page Setup.
    6. The Margins are fixed at 1" and they are NOT editable.

Bug: The margins must be editable. There is too much wasted white space.

Refer to the attached screen shot with notations.

  8. How to remove the black village from scanners

If you are scanning a document, with many pages, you do not lower the scanner lid (to speed up scanning), but this causes a black stripe to form at the edges of the text. Now you can select the text and images excluding the black border; If you want to obtain a document with the same format, for example an A5 (without black borders) this is not possible with this program, because if you report it in A5 format, the black border is revised. It should be easy to delete the outside of the selection. Sincerely

  10. PDF Tables are not tagged correctly: #3 Header IDs and cell associations

The 3rd of several problems in how PDF Maker (and InDesign's export to PDF utility) tag PDFs.

In complex tables (that is, a table with multi-row column headers, multi-column row headers, merged cells, or sub-headers in the middle of the table)...

    1. Each <TH> must have a unique header ID, and

    2. Each data cell <TD> must be associated with one or more header IDs.

This is required per the PDF/UA-1 accessibility guidelines, and is outlined in the Tagged PDF Syntax Guide, Sec. 5.4.1 (the Syntax Guide is available for free from https://www.pdfa.org/resource/tagged-pdf-best-practice-guide-syntax)

At this time, we can autogenerate the Header…

  11. PDF Tables are not tagged correctly, #2 Extra <P> with Path Path

2 of several problems in how PDF Maker tags tables.

Extra unnecessary tags are created by Adobe's PDF Maker plugin for MS Office. These tags cause the PDF to be inaccessible. See the attached screen captures of a PDF from Word 365 with PDF Maker 21.5.80.

The unnecessary <P> holds Path Path graphic data for the borders around each cell in a row.

No human being wants to hear Path Path Path Path Path Path Path Path Path Path Path Path Path Path when they access each table row. Screen readers voice the content of these tags, which is what…

  12. PDF Tables are not tagged correctly: #1 Table Editor

1 of several problems in how PDF Maker (and InDesign's export to PDF utility) tag PDFs.

In Table Editor, the editor's cell markers (bright pink lines) do not align with the actual <TD> data cells. This makes it difficult, and sometimes impossible, to correct a cell's tag.

Most commonly seen in complex tables with merged cells in the column and row headers. See screen capture.

    Also see this blog post:
    https://www.pubcom.com/blog/2020_04-05/ACROBAT_tableeditor.shtml

    EXPECTED RESULT:
Table Editor's cell outlines should match the actual cells.

  13. Save as Adobe PDF on Mac Acrobat, please!

  14. Error using Create PDF tool - Acrobat 2017 with Office 2013

Using Abobe Acrobat Standard 2017 - Version 2017.011.30169

    MS Office 2013

The issuse occurs when using the Create PDF tool with MS Word and MS Excel files. You pick your file > Create > get an error from Adobe PDFMaker "An unexptected error occured. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF."

The file is then silently held open in 'read only mode' and you have to kill WINWORD.exe or EXCEL.exe in task manager to release the file.

In Word/Excel File > Save as Adobe PDF works and Printing to Adobe or Microsoft PDF works. Seems isolated to CreatePDF tool.

  15. Embed pdfs as clickable objects within pdf that work when viewed in any pdf reader e.g. browser

Embed pdfs as clickable objects within pdf that work when viewed in any pdf reader e.g. browser. So can add pdf to word and then share and people can click on the embedded pdf to read it. But if I save the Word doc as pdf the embedded objects cease to be clickable. Annoying. And support's option of adding files into the pdf doesn't help as doesn't work with people who use browser as pdf reader.

  16. Add an option to "save as PDF" from MS Word with "Bookmarks panel and Page" by default

Add an option to the Microsoft Word Adobe Acrobat driver that allows to save as PDF with the "Navigation Tab" - "Bookmarks panel and Page" property of the PDF file activated by default.
Currently it needs to be activated manually. The driver only saves with the "Navigation Tab" - "Page Only" option.
Other Drivers such as AutoCAD; however, save as PDF with the "Navigation Tab" - "Bookmarks panel and Page" property of the PDF file activated by default.
    Thank you.

  17. Displaced text during PDF conversion from PowerPoint

Text in vector graphic images (.svg/.emf) files get displaced and in some cases overlap with other objects in the image during PowerPoint to PDF conversion with Adobe. This issue wasn't present when using Adobe PDF Library 20.9.95

  19. Preference Settings for Initial View

I just purchased a brand new Dell with "supposedly" current version of Adobe Acrobat.

I learn today that the version installed by Dell does not include the global preference setting to set file name instead of document title.

This is EXTREMELY frustrating lack of a basic setting. Why would anyone think that the user's preferred name for a document is less relevant than where ever it came from.

I can have hundreds of documents that need to be submitted in very short periods of time and now I have to go in and change each and every one to show…

  20. Add Feature like Adobe Command-Line Tools (*.exe) for Merging Multiple Files into 1 PDF

Would like for Adobe to have command-line tools (*.exe) for use in batch scripting or any languages for merging multiple documents into ONE PDF file so the task can be scheduled to run nightly... This would be an awesome tool opposing being forced to use the GUI (a manual process).
