Can not copy using keyboard shortcuts [CTRL C]

Using keyboard shortcuts [CTRL C], [CTRL P] & [CTRL V] does not work intermittently. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

I can use all other shortcuts except ctrl c, if I right click and hit copy I can then use ctrl v. But I copy and paste a lot of things and need the shortcuts!!
