Stop asking to make Acrobat the default PDF program

I said "No" I don't want Acrobat to be my default app for PDF files. Acrobat DC asks me again every time I start the program. That is intrusive and abusive, there is already a button on the start screen for that. Let me choose not to be asked again. I know how to do it through Acrobat (it's in plain sight already) or through the operating system settings.

    I am experiencing some sort of bug related to this. I have chosen Acrobat Pro as my default pdf app, and the notification keeps appearing every time I interact with a PDF file. I went to preferences and every time I select Select As Default PDF Handler button it crashes Acrobat and the app relaunches. It's a loop I can't get out of. It started yesterday, 4/20/2026 and persists after a system restart. Win11 Enterprise 10.0.26200 Build 26200
