3. Digital Signatures

   i need to have 2 different type of signature ie one drawn using personal name and one drawn using company name. Presently this is not allowed as one can only have one drawn signature per account.

   there should be a feature to allow for multiple signatures in one account as different document requires different signature.

   Am not sure why we are allowed to create namy digital signatures when one can only have one drawn signature at any one time.

   please add this feature.

4. Comment-filter is buggy?

   The comment-filtering tool isn’t working as it used to. Before this issue, the comments I marked/checked as ‘completed’ would hide automatically when I set the comments-filter to ‘none’. I could then easily see how many comments there left unsolved. Now I have to constantly “manually refresh” the filter to get the checked comment to hide as I am working though the document.

   By “manually refreshing” I mean go into the filter menu, change filter to ‘none’ and ‘completed’, click use, then go back to the filter menu and choose only ‘none’ and click use. This is a really wierd change if it’s not a bug.

   Is it possible to fix this? Have I missed something that I can set in setting?

5. Bug: automatic hyperlinking of URLs in plain text includes punctuation

   Today I learned that when a PDF's text includes URLs that are -not- marked up as hyperlinks, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Apple Preview, and Google Chrome's built-in PDF renderer all attempt to convert the URLs to clickable hyperlinks for the reader's convenience.

   However, Adobe Acrobat Reader does a noticeably worse job than the other software. Specifically: if the URL is followed by punctuation, Acrobat includes the punctuation in the target of the hyperlink, resulting in a broken link. Apple Preview and Google Chrome handle punctuation correctly.

   You can see this behavior by opening the attached PDF in Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, and Firefox. (The Microsoft Word document I used to produce the PDF is also attached). The PDF includes some hyperlinks, some plain text URLs, and a variety of punctuation.

   The most interesting cases are #2 and #3:
   - Adobe Acrobat converts both plain text URLs to hyperlinks automatically, but gets it wrong, including ALL the punctuation, including the comma, the quotation marks, and the closing bracket (if present).
   - Apple Preview converts both plain text URLs to hyperlinks automatically, and gets it right, including no punctuation
   - Google Chrome (for Mac) does NOT convert the URL in #2 to a hyperlink; it converts the URL in #3 correctly
   - Firefox (for Mac) doesn't convert either of them.

   If Acrobat were improved to behave like Apple Preview or Google Chrome, LOTS of documents around the world would start having working, clickable links for readers that use Acrobat. In particular, URLs in the footnotes/citations/bibliographies of a large number of scholarly publications would start working for people.

6. AcroPDFImpl64.dll crashes when PDF is accessed via ActiveX/Webbrowser Control x64

   Following bug has been introduced with a recent Adobe Reader (or Windows?) update. It affects all our customers.

   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Create a 64 Bit C# application (32 Bit Works)
   2. In the application, use ActiveX, or WebBrowser control and open/navigate to "C:\documentname.pdf"

   Expected result: PDF shows up

   Actual result: Screen stays gray. In the Windows Error Reporting you will see that AcroPDFImpl64.dll has crashed.

   It is very important for us, because our customers rely on this functionality and our software product is currently not useable due to this bug.

7. PDF file type association broken after upgrading from Reader 2017 to Reader 2020

   In Windows 10, the file type association for .pdf stops working after upgrading from Adobe Reader 2017 (Classic Track) to Reader 2020 (Classic Track). Issue occurs if file association was originally configured by DISM or user for previous Adobe Reader version. The same .pdf file association is expected to work with new Adobe Reader versions.

   Double-clicking a PDF file displays Windows prompt "How do you want to open this file?". The HKCR registry key still contains an entry for the ProgID, AcroExch.Document.2017. Should the Reader 2020 installer remove the HKCR\AcroExch.Document.2017 registry key? Deleting the key appears to resolve the issue.

   Steps to reproduce the issue:
   1. Install Windows 10 Enterprise.
   2. Install Adobe Reader 2017 (Classic Track) using bootstrapper installation (setup.exe).
   3. Set default PDF program manually. This can also be applied using DISM during operating system deployment with XML containing the following entry; <Association Identifier=".pdf" ProgId="AcroExch.Document.2017" ApplicationName="Adobe Acrobat Reader 2017" />

9. "highlight current bookmark" does not work any more

   When the above option is selected the hightlighting of the current bookmark should follow the reading, i.e. the hightlighted bookmark should be synchronous to the currently read text. This was the case in former Readers but does not work any more.

10. Adobe Reader DC should open Windows Protocol Handler links regardless of the default browser

    Hello. We have a situation where a Windows protocol handler product is used to open documents from an EDRMS. At some point Adobe has apparently changed how it opens links. Now it simply passes a link to the system's default browser on the command line. As as some browsers (notably Chrome and recent builds of Edge which are based on Chromium) don't handle protocol handler URLs from the command line, this style of link now fails to activate.

    Links will be of a form similar to example://12345/open but I think this is an issue for all Windows protocol handlers.

    ENVIRONMENT:

    Windows 10,
    Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2021.001.20145, and
    Chrome 89.0.4389.90 (64 bit) as the system's default browser.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

    (1) Create and register a Windows Protocol Handler. (Example instructions: https://medium.com/swlh/custom-protocol-handling-how-to-8ac41ff651eb )

    (2) Make sure Chrome is the system's default browser.

    (3) Create a PDF which includes a hyperlink to open a URL of the registered protocol's form.

    (4) Confirm that the protocol handler activates and does its thing when pasted into the Windows Start/Run dialog. (This is just to confirm that it's registered properly as far as Windows is concerned.)

    (5) Open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, disable "Enable Protected Mode At Startup" under the Enhanced Security preferences, and restart Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    (6) Open the PDF that was created in step 3.

    (7) Click the protocol handler's link, and click through any warnings.

    EXPECTED RESULT:

    • The protocol handler should be run according to the link that was clicked. (In our own case, the designated executable should go to the EDRMS and cause the document to be checked out and opened.)

    OBSERVED RESULT:

    • A blank Chrome browser window opens.
    • Interrogating the process list with Powershell indicates that the new Chrome window was opened with the protocol handler's URL on the command line. For example:

    ADDITIONAL:

    If Firefox or MSIE was set as the default browser, then the browser opens. It typically displays an additional warning, but still allows the protocol handler to be activated. This is consistent with those browsers' behaviour when a non-http link is provided on the command line.

    Ideally, if there's no compelling reason not to, I think Adobe Reader should be telling the OS to handle the protocol handler links instead of the default browser. It might be that this will still fail when Adobe Reader is running in Protected Mode, but we're making a conscious decision to run it without protected mode in some contexts so that we can use these links.

11. save all closed tabs

    It would be nice to have a 'save all closed tabs'. Then I can re-open these on the next session. Unfortunately, this option is still not available.
    Google has such extension called OneTab. Something similar on Adobe Reader would be great!
    This has been requested by several others (see in comments https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac/suggestions/31145458-save-all-tabs-with-one-click)

    Once you re-start, you should just be able to re-open the whole bunch of pdf's that you closed before with one click

12. BUG-Adobe Reader DC

    I created a form using Adobe Acrobat 9. I added a java script in the background to alert the user of any fields that were not filled out, including multiple signature lines. I tested the form frequently, using Acrobat 9, pro and reader DC, and it worked perfectly. Now I am getting reports from the users(using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC), that they are getting an error message stating that the signature lines need to be populated when the lines have the signatures inserted already.
    
    All users using the latest version of Adobe Reader DC, this issue occurred after the latest update.

15. regarding meaning search

    If we don't know meaning of the word while reading in a document then there must be search by web option along with the copy tab or you can simply add Dictionary into Adobe so that it will become more user friendly and more helpful to the person who is in need to search that meaning.

16. Show commenting tools in full screen mode or at least allow to move all menus and panes to sides.

    I need to see 2 full pages (A4) up on full screen and still be able to do commenting. Standard 16:9 screen has enough space for that. Just allow to move all menus and panes to either left or right side of the screen.

17. Use alt / ctrl keys to force freehand marker instead of cursor-based highlighter

    When the default Highlight text tool (marker icon) is applied on document with inconsistent text (either poorly generated text scattered across page, math formulae etc.) the highlighted area does not look good or even does not make sense. Of course, I can manually click&switch to Drawing tool (pencil icon) and mark that area by hand but it can be set to other color, thickness, and opacity. I wish I could switch between these tools using ALT, CTRL of SHIFT keys for rapid commenting (while keeping the same color, thickness and opacity - ust like if the Highlight text tool is used on document without selectable text in that area).

18. Too many comments (of any type) create lag

    I am studying a pdf and when I have arrived at almost 2000 comments adobe started not working well. For example after having underlined a word Adobe block for a few seconds and then restarts. I trid checking for uploads and restoring the version but nothing.

20. Stop Auto Installing McFee

    Seriously what a DOG act for you to do and go and change the installing process for Adobe Reader, so you took the mcfee install out of the installer and put it no where near the download section what so ever so you done this by choice I had no idea YOUR GARBAGE MCFEE BLOATWARE installed you knew this long before changing the effects it would have, not only did your GARBAGEWARE stop my PAID for kaspersky total security, I spent hours trying to find a solution to get rid of THAT GARBAGE, so stop bloody auto checking that **** for us in the future, should be our bloody CHOICE NOT YOURS, biggest DOG ACT I've seen a company pull, just to use your reader, poor form and low act, changing the install structure of your Reader so you can sly in your BLOATWARE GARBAGE, should be ashamed of yourselves
