Adobe Licensing Application hangs after login on Mac OS 10.15.2 (Catalina)
When trying to start the newest version of Adobe Acrobat 2017 for Mac OS on Catalina after logging in with the Adobe ID the Adobe Licensing Application hangs. See: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/acrobat-licensing-application-hangs-after-login-on-mac-os-10-15-catalina/td-p/10752118
The software is unusable.

I too confirm that installing a trial of Adobe 2020, and then starting Acrobat 2017 allows you to register Acrobat 2017. After that you can also delete Acrobat 2020.
Apparently the Adobe Licensing app is a single specific app which is brought in by the Acrobat XXXX installation; and a more recent version of the Licensing application works well with older Acrobat versions. -

If you run the Adobe Acrobat 2020 installer it will fix the issue. You don't have to use the 2020, you can still use the 2017 after installing 2020. -

I'm having the same problem with Acrobat 2020 but this time on BigSur. It was caused by immigration from old Mac to a new Mac. The 2020 installed with no problem on the old Mac running BigSur - licensing app came up - login and everything working. It is an installation thing? I was on line with an adobe tech person who basically was running around on my computer and still getting the same blank adobe licensing window. Can anybody help me with new terminal commands - I'm guessing using something like this
sudo /Applications/Adobe\ Acrobat\ 2020/Adobe\ Acrobat.app/Contents/MacOS/AdobeAcrobat

Thanks for reporting this to Adobe. You might be having the old version of Adobe Acrobat which is not compatible with Catalina. COuld you please visit this link and download the installer under the table named 'For Mac OS (v10.12 and above)'.
After installation sign in with the same ID, you were using it earlier.
If it still doesn't work provide us the install.log and system.log from /var/log dir.

Has anyone found a workaround recently, that will work? I'm having the issue with Catalina 10.15.6 and Acrobat Pro 2017 was working fine on my previous mac, but after upgrading to a new mac, I am unable to get it installed. I checked privacy&security settings and allowed everything with the adobe name on it. This issue seems to have been going on for a long time. Do you think there will be a solution?

Thanks for reaching us. To resolve this issue, could you please follow the below:
1. Run the Log Collector tool and share the logs via a sharable link(Gdrive or any other suited platform) or attach them here. Log Collector: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html
2. Provide us the permission of the OOBE folder. You can run the 'ls -l ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe' command on the terminal to check the permission.
3. A short video demonstrating the issue.
