EssayBot Provides a Quick Start Without Any Complex Setup – But Is It Really Worth Leaning On?
I was messing around with EssayBot because deadlines were stacking up, and I just wanted something to break the silence on a blank page. It does shoot out text fast, but my question is: can using something that quick and almost too easy actually hurt your ability to build your own voice in writing? I’m at UC Berkeley, and professors always talk about originality being more than grammar checks. Anyone here tried it long-term and noticed an effect, good or bad?

I tried EssayBot https://essaysbot.com/ during finals week in 2022 when I had 5 papers due at Michigan State, and honestly it gave me a skeleton draft faster than caffeine ever could. But here’s the weird part—over time I realized my intros sounded robotic, almost like someone summarizing a Wikipedia page. What helped me was flipping the process: I’d let it spit out bullet points, then I’d rewrite those sections using my own takes (sometimes adding stats from Pew Research or examples from Trevor Noah’s book). I don’t think it ruins your voice if you stay conscious of the balance.
