Making the Switch to Energy-Efficient Living in Singapore
Hi everyone! One of the best changes I’ve made recently is replacing my old ceiling fans. The newer models are quieter and use way less power, which is a bonus for both comfort and bills. I also chose models with integrated lights to reduce clutter and wiring complexity.
I went with a kdk ceiling fan for my bedroom. It’s the T60AW model, and I’ve been seriously impressed. It runs almost silently and has a very smooth start-up. I also appreciate the built-in sleep mode, which reduces fan speed as the night progresses. Perfect for light sleepers like me.
For lighting, I’ve gone all-in on led lights. I replaced every bulb in my flat with LED alternatives. It’s made a visible difference, especially in brightness and temperature control. I’m currently experimenting with color temperature in my study—cool white helps me stay focused during work-from-home hours.
The climate voucher 2024 helped fund a good part of these upgrades. I was able to use mine at a participating retailer in Paya Lebar, and they had a great selection of ceiling fans and lights. If you haven’t used your voucher yet, I highly recommend planning a weekend to check out available shops.
