Thai UI localization and OCR support for Acrobat
Thai OCR has been requested by users for many years. I personally requested Thai OCR support as early as 2018, and another similar request was made in 2019. At the time, users were told that the request had been communicated to the relevant team.
Yet, nearly eight years later, Thai is still not officially supported for OCR in Acrobat. Thai is also still unavailable as a user interface language.
Thailand has a population of more than 70 million people, making Thai a major language with a substantial potential user base. Adobe already supports Thai text in PDF documents, so the continued lack of Thai UI and OCR support is difficult to understand from a user perspective.
Thai users should not have to rely on an English-only interface or be unable to perform OCR on Thai-language documents. Adobe Acrobat should support Thai as a complete language option, including both UI localization and OCR.
