1. Running Sierra 10.12.6. Acrobat pro won't open properly.

   Acrobat pro won't open properly on my iMac running Sierra 10.12.6.
   I can see it in the menu bar at the top of the screen, but it won't open any further than that.
   I have been able to click on file-open and managed to open a file, but none of the tool functions work.

3. Error in Adobe Acrobat DC Pro Installer

   I download the acrobatproDC_dlm disk image on my Macbook Pro running 10.12.5 using the Chrome browser.
   This download proceeds normally.

   After mounting the disk image and starting the installer app, it fails as 29% saying: "Safari must be closed in order to proceed". This comes up in a dialog box with Retry and Close buttons. Retry always fails with the same error message. Close, of course, closes the installer.

   The trouble is that Safari is not running!

   I finally figured out that Adobe Acrobat Reader DC was running and this was the cause of the installation failure.

   Please correct the installer to point to the right application in conflict.

4. Restrict 'Save As'

   Currently, you can restrict print and save, but cannot restrict Save As. Would like to see that restriction added as well.

5. Better update UX

   Acrobat will sometimes generate a pop-up that says "Update completed!" with two options: "Restart Now" and "Cancel". Naturally, I assumed that "Restart Now" meant restart Acrobat. Because that's what it means in every other application on my computer, from Firefox and Chrome, to Intellij, to Microsoft Word, to Steam, and so on. In reality, that innocuous looking button immediately restarted my entire computer, without any sort of warning or confirmation prompt. I've twice lost work (from other applications, like my web browser) because I forgot that in Adobe's world, a user is going to want to immediately restart their entire computer and stop everything that they're working on just to update a PDF editor. I'm unclear on why Acrobat even needs a full restart to update, but if it does, it should at least warn me that it's going to do something so drastic.

6. There is no way to enlarge a pdf received. It just shows in full page. Where is the zoom feature?

7. Snapshot of PDF page for export to JPG has bugs

   If you open those files in Acrobat, and use the snapshot feature, then "control-a" to select everything, you will see differences in each one. In each case, on the right side, the app selects more than it should be selecting. For example, the sample with inset and color has a small band of white on the right side that is included in the selection that should not be. This was a bug in Acrobat 9. I was hoping to find this problem fixed in this version, but it is not. I only discovered this recently, because I started adding background color to my pages that I was exporting to acrobat from Indesign, and when I exported them, I noticed the uncolored band on the right. It is not a problem with the margins (all .25 in), and the gutter is zero. These are single page exports from Indesign, not facing pages. I suppose the problem could have its origins in some bug in Indesign.

8. Does acrobat have access to my computer?

   Whenever I use acrobat, my mouse seems driven by commads - not mine - to do things in acraobat. Things like scrolling, moving mouse, opening other windows in acrobat. Is it a ghost or is it Adobe?

9. A document where images cannot be screenshot to be searched for on google images or way to alter our images so same images don't come up

   I need to be able to create a document where the images we include can not be screenshot and the searched for in google image search (thus enabling the person I am sending the PDF to to go to competitor websites who have the same images as us). So either no screenshot allowed or the ability to change the images we have sufficiently that google image will not find it.

10. Product is a total pile of ****. Why do I have to wait "while the document is being prepared"? Is it unprepared. Fix it.

11. Signed document should be frozen, while it is not....

    When we (in my company) sign documents with "fill and sign", we get following instant message; " When you save a form with signature or initials you will no longer be able to edit the existing form fields". This is perfect! BUT; this is not true! Even after the document is saved, others can change anything in the document, and even delete the signature!!!?!! Should be possible to choose if others should be able to sign (as multiple signatures often is needed), or if it should be totally locked for any editing after signing!

    I have had the most unimaginably bad customer experience today with you products. I bought a new computer (MacBook) and attempted to load the software I purchased in 2015. For the last 8 hours I (or one of our people here at our company) have been trying to contact you or work through your chat capability or simply follow some instructions (not findable) to complete this simple task. 13. When starting, open documents previously open

    Often I'll have 5-10 documents open at once - they are constantly in use. When I close Acrobat they are all closed. and when I re open Acrobat I need to reopen all the documents. It would be nice if it would veryt simply open all of the files open when it was last closed.

    I received this file thorough email and I can't open it in my MacBook, but it opens in other computers.

16. Bug - Name in top Right Corner Constantly Changes

    I have changed my name a few months ago. When my account was created I went by a different name. I have updated my account to show my new name. It seems like every .pdf I open shows a different name. Sometimes it shows my old name and sometimes my new name. I have tried signing completely out and back in, same issue. It happens randomly. Steps to re-produce the issue is to just open a .pdf file. Environment - Windows 10, domain joined computer.

18. Acrobat Pro DC Needs Better ERROR Messages

    I'll first give an example then explain why Acrobat Pro DC needs better error messages.

    We often work with large PDFs (sometimes 10,000 pages or more) that are created by joining together many smaller PDFs in Acrobat Pro DC.

    Bates Numbers are applied and sometimes removed and re-applied as the document get's built.

    Sometimes something goes wrong when editing the PDF.
    For example Edit > More > Bates Numbering > Remove... gives an error "A number is out of range."

    This error unfortunately comes up for us a lot which I guess is to be somewhat expected when combining hundreds of PDFs from various sources. I'm assuming not every PDF generator follows exact PDF standards; iPhones, bank websites, 3rd party PDF printers, etc. However these PDFs were all combined with Acrobat Pro DC. Meaning that Acrobat Pro DC is not checking the PDFs or sanitising the data when they are imported! But that is another subject for another day...

    The problem we have is that the error message(s) don't even tell us on which page it encountered the error. So we are left scratching out heads wondering which page or which part of the 10,000 page document has the problem.

    What would be better would to give an option to the user ignore the error and keep processing the rest of the document. OR process the entire document and generate a report of pages that contained errors so the user could then attempt to go and repair those pages.

    Ok so hold on because this gets better...

    So to attempt to repair the document(s) we try and split them into smaller documents using Organise Pages > Split > say 100 pages or 1000 pages per "Part"
    Then we get the error: "An incorrect structure was found in the PDF."

    Ok well what now? Where is the option to repair the structure of the PDF?? Or at least tell the user what part of the structure was incorrect.

    Ok so now I guess we'll export the whole thing to PostScript and run it through Acrobat Distiller DC and rebuild the PDF with the Standard profile.
    Which still gives us the same errors! So the only option we are left with is rebuilding the entire PDF from the ground up which can take days...

    I understand that the Adobe Support Community can't really change the future of Adobe products but I am hoping this post will eventually make it to the developers at Adobe who might add just a few lines of code to tell me on which page the "A number is out of range." It would be very helpful.

    Acrobat Pro DC is a great product but when things go wrong it doesn't seem to handle errors very well.
    Please build-in PDF document error recovery or at least give the end-user a little more information to help them fix the problems. This is a "Pro" product.

19. How do I make Adobe the default program to open documents - using iMac Sierra 10.12.5

    I was using a different program as the default program to open documents but I don't like it so I want to go back to Adobe but I can't figure out how to change it, it doesn't give me the option to make it the default program even though I deleted the other program, now it defaults to Preview.

20. Page numbering in Excel

    While in an Excel workbook, I want to print/convert multiple worksheets to PDF. The page numbering does NOT need to be a master count of all worksheets. If worksheet one is two pages, it should be 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. If worksheet two is three pages, it should be 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3. NOT 3 of 5, 4 of 5, 5 of 5.

    Older versions of Acrobat worked seamlessly. I have tried many workarounds and have not found anything that works. I have called Adobe Tech Support and have had no luck.
