Fast, automated batch file processing
This is to some extent a refinement or extension of other questions here. One of the things I have to do just often enough to not have it "habit" is batch processing of PDF files, usually to reduce file size. I have a custom tool created, and have now figured out how to "find it" when I open Acrobat.
Assuming one has gotten to this point, there are two specific functions that would make this much easier, based on what makes sense to this user: I want to be able to drag files "somewhere" to process them.
Photoshop (and Acrobat - for specific limited preflighting functionality) allow one now to create a "droplet". I would request the ability to make a droplet from any (custom) action. This way, those of us who want to have automated workflows could not only "find the tool" more easily, but the selection of files (the second pain point) would also be logical, clear, and easy to recall.
The second complementary request: in the "Edit Action" dialog, there are choices for "Files to be processed" that include a defined folder ("Add folder") and also to add a specific file; there are also several "From" choices ("Scanner", "Web Page", "Combine Files", and "Clipboard". Please consider adding "From Open Files" to those choices. This is partway to the above request: drag all of the files I want to process into Acrobat and then I'll find the action I wrote and run it.
Either or ideally both of these would help cut steps from batch processing files and more importantly be easier (more obvious) to be able to use on an infrequent basis.
