BUG: Acrobat DC randomly making text or images disappear when changing reading order
When reordering the reading order of items on the pages of an audit report, Acrobat randomly removed text on pages that I wasn't even looking at. I tested it out on another file and discovered the text disappears when you hit save. Up until then everything appears fine.
Acrobat was also making random layers of embedded pdf maps disappear when when trying to add alternative text, and there is no option to simply edit the SLUG text instead.

Can't believe this is STILL happening. Maybe because there are so few votes it doesn't matter to Adobe.
Just today, I go to move a table in the reading order from position 4 to position 2. When I do that, the text in the table completely disappears.
This is making my job, digital accessibility, totally inefficient. I have to keep reloading the PDF and starting over from save points, just to get it tagged for accessibility. Adobe Acrobat is driving me crazy with these minor bugs that were reported... 4 years ago.

Posted this answer before, but figured I'd put it here too. JR Boulay evidently has a fix involving changing the font of the text. While he doesn't explain, it seems that Times New Roman (and possibly Calibri?) is a buggy font. Might be worth a try but I don't use Adobe just because I hear about this issue so often.
