hide tools pane
It's so annoying to have to close the All Tools and Bookmarks panes every time I open a document. None of the settings seem to work. Why isn't there a default option to hide these panes?

This is a major problem for engineering systems using Reader as an embedded file viewer, as one needs to be able to flip through files quickly, and having to close the two panes occupying 90% of the window each time makes it absolutely prohibitive bordering on liability.

This needs to be so much higher. Especially when working with multiple tabs on a smaller screen, I do not want to see a thumb-sized version of my documents when the side-tabs take up 90% of my screen whenever I open a new file.
This is highly useless and frustrating.
