move the side bar

I would really like the old layout back. The tool bar being moved from the top to the side bar and not even being possible to move takes away the symmetry of the layout and is super disturbing for my reading.

I'd really appreciate if you look into this.

    I agree. The new layout sucks. At least give users the option to move the navigation tools from the side to the top middle.

    Sidebar obstruct view of document, hiding pieces of drawings, tables or similar. Moving sidebar away will hide other pieces of the document, or one will start searching for the sidebar to access tools as it do not have a fixed placement on screen.
