Reopening files from last session
Subject: Request for Support: Acrobat Session Restore Not Working with OneDrive Files
To: Adobe Acrobat Support
Dear Adobe Support Team,
I am experiencing an issue with the “Open PDFs from last session on Acrobat launch” feature in Adobe Acrobat. Although I have the correct settings enabled in Preferences > General (including Open PDFs from last session on Acrobat launch and Open documents as new tabs in the same window), Acrobat fails to restore my previous session when the PDFs are stored in OneDrive folders.
Instead, I encounter an "Access Denied" error for files stored in various OneDrive folders, especially when the files are marked as cloud-only (Files On-Demand). The issue persists even when:
The PDFs are located across different folders within OneDrive,
The files were previously opened and closed normally in Acrobat, and
Acrobat’s session restore feature is expected to function properly.
This limitation significantly disrupts my workflow, as I rely on OneDrive for cloud storage but also need Acrobat to restore my last session's PDFs.
Could you please clarify:
Whether this is a known limitation or bug in Acrobat when working with OneDrive files,
If there is a solution or workaround that would allow session restore for cloud-only files,
Whether Adobe has plans to improve integration with cloud storage systems like OneDrive in future updates.
Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Arie Blitz
