Intelligent "Smart Merge" with Content-Aware De-Duplication and Date Sorting
I manage a large archive of scanned documents stored across multiple cloud services (iCloud, OneDrive). Over time, I have accumulated many files with redundant content (e.g., the same pages scanned multiple times in different files). Currently, there is no easy way to merge these files without manually reviewing and deleting hundreds of duplicate pages.
Proposed Solution: I would like to request a "Smart Merge" feature in Acrobat Pro that includes:
Content-Aware De-Duplication: During the merge process, Acrobat should analyze the visual/text content of pages (not just file names) and automatically identify and remove identical pages.
Chronological Sorting: An option to sort the merged pages based on the "Date Created" metadata of the original source files, rather than just appending them to the end.
Conflict Resolution: A review window (similar to the "Organize Pages" view) that highlights potential duplicates and allows the user to "Keep One" or "Keep All" before finalizing the merge.
Why this matters: This would save hours of manual labor for users digitizing paper records or consolidating archives. Current tools only find duplicate files, but no native tool efficiently finds duplicate pages inside a merged document.
