page controls
Please make it possible in settings to PERMANENTLY hide page control from the document AND from the toolbar. I was able to get rid of them by selecting "hide page controls" after View, Show/Hide, Page Controls, but the controls appear again when I re-open Adobe. I know page controls can be switched from toolbar to document, and I know all the tool bars can be hidden. But I don't want to hide all the tools - I've customized the tool bar with the tools I use all the time. I just want to get rid of the page controls, which I never use and which get in the way in the document and the toolbar.
Hi,
We released an update for Adobe Acrobat DC that fixes this concern.
So there is no further need of doing any workaround.
This update will be automatically applied to all Acrobat and Reader users in the coming days. You may also update to the latest release by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.
You can also drop an Email to me at ajain@adobe.com to let me know further in this. Thanks.

Now it is 2019 and I still want to know how to PERMANENTLY keep the Page controls in the toolbar so they do not block the document????
Anyone have a real quick answer that WORKS?

Issue I have is I actually need page controls. Every time I start Adobe new, I have to re-enable them via View => Show/Hide => Page Controls => Show Page Controls. This is really very unpleasant situation and I am surprised Zoom and Hand Tool is not there by default. I always need it.
I tried to find a permanent setting for this, but couldn't. Please help.

Oh how I have been looking forward to this. I have asked for it in the past. I too have my own custom toolset, and don't want to lose half the toolbar to things i never use.

The May 22, 2017 workaround worked great, thank you.

I don't know about the registry, but it turns out the inability to truly customize this program led me to abandon it in favor of the X version. Way too many annoying problems, and hiding the page controls was only one of them. You want truly customizable? Go back to or try and get Adobe Professional X.

Is there anywhere in the registry where I can make the Page Controls dock permanently?

Great. Got rid of all the page controls, but would like to be able to keep zoom drop-down. That's all I want. Don't want Show/Hide Thumbnails; Fit to Window; Fit One Page; or Read Mode.
When you get rid of Page Controls, it gets rid of everything.

I am aware of the process you described. But the page controls then appear
at the bottom of the page. I am often trying to read, copy or edit
something on the bottom of the page, and the page controls get in the way.
My request was for a workaround to get rid of the page controls in the
toolbar AND the document. Is there one for that? -
Hi,
Thanks for Reaching out to us for your queries. here is a workaround by which you wont be able to view the Page controls in the Toolbar even after next document launches.
First, Undock the Page controls from the Toolbar (using the icon that reads Move controls out of the toolbar) . Now your Page controls appear as a floating HUD option on the document area. Now do "View, Show/Hide, Page Controls, Hide Page controls" .
From next document launches, you won't be able to view the page controls in your toolbar,Let me know if that solves your concerns
