Provide Option to Hide Welcome / Home /Startup Screen
My Acrobat Pro DC opens automatically when I boot my Mac.
Each time I have to close the annoying start-up screen where the last documents are displayed. I don’t need it! Please provide an option again to disable this feature as it where in past versions of Acrobat. Thank you.
Hi,
Thanks for Reaching out to us for your concerns.
We’ve Kept a note of your request and we’ll revisit this once we hear back from more users for this.

The latest version ("Acrobat" not Acrobat DC) completely destroyed my workflow. It insisted that I didn't need the tools I use 'on hand' and hid them away. I reverted back to the previous version to avoid doing acrobatics to get my job done.

This was finally fixed in the most recent update that I installed (as below) as the check box preference to hide the Home Screen has been re-instated

I agree it's terrible, in the way when I'm working...

Please, please, please provide an option to hide the home screen. It's annoying for me in most circumstances.

There SO many users who are asking for the option of turning off the Welcome Screen. Exactly how many complaints do you need?! All you have to do is google it, to see the unpopularity of this scourge to Acrobat. Slightly dramatic. But it's SUPER annoying and counterproductive.

There was an option in 2022 version but since I updated to 2023 it has disappeared from the preferences. This is so annoying, I don't need this screen to clutter up my workspace. I want to be able to turn it off completely.

No reason for this feature to exist.

Has there been any updates or solution to this? The home screen is terribly intrusive and interrupts fluid work flow.

I hate the ******* home / tools screen. Give us an option to make it look like old Acrobat Pro (before the Creative Cloud ****, None of which I use).
Please excuse the nasty language. I'm trying to make a point about how badly I hate the way your software works today. If I didn't want it running in Apple Silicon mode, I'd have re-inistalled my old copy from my old Mac.

I don't know know many users need to reply here for the comment to reach critical mass, but I'm curious why this issue comes up every few years, and then Adobe changes the interface on a subsequent release. 2 years have passed since the last outcry.
I understand very well that Adobe would love to have everyone heavily invested in their ecosystem, but it's cost prohibitive and relies heavily on having a top-tier internet connection, and it seems that a basic understanding that Adobe's content creators very frequently deal with that sort of issue is key to Adobe's continued dominance in the market.
The welcome screen is redundant in my workflow, and as a result instead of letting it run I'm now completely quitting the application ever time I close a PDF so that I don't have to maneuver around that window.
When is the idea that one app family can do everything going to finally run its course? Thanks!

Ayush, what is the progress on the removal of the unwelcome Home Screen, or addition of some way to set Acrobat Pro so that the Home Screen does not appear, or closes automatically when one closes the last open PDF?
I have mostly switched to Preview, but find the home ‘feature’ deeply annoying any time I do need to open a PDF to take action on a file.

Any suggestion on alternative PDF reader that doesn't shove a "Home" screen down our throat?

The constant reappearance of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC's desktop-obscuring welcome window when I close a PDF is maddening and time-wasting. Please create an option for eliminating it permanently.

I gave up on a fix for this and switched my default reader to Preview. Preview works fine for reading, so I just have to open files in Acrobat for editing. It's worth the extra step of explicitly opening 1-2 files in Acrobat each day to avoid having to explicitly close the Acrobat screen 20 times each day.

For crying out loud give us the option to get rid of this unnecessary window permanently! I'm sick and tired of exiting Acrobat to access my desktop only to find this pointless thing in my way!

Please add option to hide the Home page. I hate it.

I wish to add my voice to this post. The welcome screen is unnecessary. It adds an extra layer that just slows down workflow, in the guise of being helpful. Please give users the option of disabling it.
Thank you. -

Agreed. This is just an annoying 'make work' page. Come on Adobe, how many posts are needed before you "We’ve Kept a note of your request and we’ll revisit this once we hear back from more users for this"!!
