The Zoom In (+) and Zoom Out (-) buttons missing from tool bar.
The Zoom In (+) and Zoom Out (-) buttons, and the zoom percentage text box disappeared from my toolbar, and I can't get them back. These controls are only accessible through the menus or the undocked floating panel. Re-docking the panel doesn't bring these controls with it. Right-click "Show Select & Zoom Tools" doesn't even list them.

The first thing I'm used to looking at when opening a pdf is the zoom value, to check if I'm 100% or not.
Removing this info, the new DC makes me lose time and makes me crazy.
Does Adobe become like Apple, removing the essential features to flat the design? -

I agree with all the comments; replacing the simple zoom-in/zoom-out with a drop-down of zoom levels, forcing extra mouse clicks and creating user frustration, was a very stupid idea.
In my case, resolution was found by undocking page controls. (Follow instructions by "E" below). I can deal with the + - buttons floating at the bottom of the page.

If you are missing the Zoom In / Out buttons, it is because the said "Page Controls" are out of toolbar. Take your mouse pointer to the bottom of the page and you should see them. At the right end, there is a tiny box with dots and arrow pointing upwards. Click on that and the controls would be back on the toolbar.

Acrobat is now almost un-usable because of the lack of being able to view tools, no menus visible to speak of, I don't even have "view" as an option and can see no tools. Genius Adobe - great job.

Click "view" in the menu bar, click "show/hide", click "page controls", click "show page controls". The trick is the page controls (with the + and - buttons) will show at the bottom of the page. You will need to click on the small bar with the dots in it and the arrow above it to move the entire page controls bar to the top tool bar. This took me two days to figure out!

What is the deal with this and why isn't it fixed yet? Why would Adobe feel the need to add an extra step each time zoom in or out is used? Please fix ASAP.

Why did they remove the simple +/- zooms. How to get it back. My software is up to date.

I agree, bring back the simple ability to EASILY access a common feature of + and - on the tool bar!

this is simply unacceptable. Need to have a little more control over zoom and "tabbed" docs. I dont want separate tabs and I DO want the +/- buttons for zoom. I cannot believe a giant software company can be so simple minded that they think forcing these horrible, productive-killing changes can be good. I will be looking for alternative platform.

Why did you remove the separated + - tools? Very bad idea!

I was also a big user of the + sign feature. Amazing why they do things like this. Think they just love change for the sake of change. The fact that the change is pointless and/or in fact straight out stupid is no barrier.

same for me, i am missing zoom in and zoom out buttons after the new update, I have to click on the zoom icon, then they zoom in and zoom out buttons drop down. It was easier with the 2 button on the toolbar.

I've experienced that the "Reset Toolbars" option has made the "zoom buttons percentage field" visible again. Perhaps it was only a matter of misinterpreted custom settings?

This is so ignorant, acrobat f*ckers do not even care about their customers asking for the +/- zoom functions, which obviously was a lot more handy for a large part of the users

Use Dynamic Zoom.
In the upper toolbar there is an icon showing a magnifying glass with an up-down arrow inside it. If you click on it and swipe your cursor across the page you can vary your zoom.
Then press escape to to get out of it. -

6 Months has gone by since this issue started. Is there still no reasonable fix?

I concur. Please bring back + and - zoom buttons. Silly that this is only available when tabbed view is enabled and not when open new tabs in separate windows is enabled. Is this thread monitored by Adobe? Can we get a status update on this issue?

PLEASE bring back the zoom in/zoom out + and - buttons. I very much dislike the new system--it's too cumbersome. I read literally thousands of pages a month in PDF format and would really like these buttons back where they were. Thank you!

I had the same problem. What I did was scroll/hover my mouse over the bottom part of the viewing screen in adobe acrobat and all the viewing buttons are hidden there. I don't know how to make that toolbar stay there but at least I found it.
