Apple Silicon install package fails unless Rosetta is installed first
When installing a package created for Apple Silicon macs, the installer will fail unless Rosetta is already installed. Rosetta is only required when you are attempting to run an x86 application on Apple Silicon, so this feels like a bug. The installer fails with no indication of what the problem is and the logs do not help. I stumbled upon the fix by accident. It should be noted that Rosetta is not installed by default on M1 Macs and is only invoked when you attempt to run an "Intel" application. The installer is for Apple Silicon, so it does not invoke this prompt.

It's disappointing that the installer does not work with Apple Silicon even after all this time. Hopefully this is resolved soon so we dont need to install Rosetta just to install Adobe Acrobat.

What P L said might be a bit misleading: The comment refers to Reader DC. I have full Acrobat Pro plus several Adobe products installed, and I ended up with six small Intel-only apps installed, one I know belongs to Acrobat, and the others have generic names so they could be from some other Adobe apps.

If the company called Adobe turned out to be just a 23-year-old living in his mom's basement and his full-time job at the Taco Bell took up all his time, I could see why there has not been enough time.
But really? It's not like Apple Silicon was announced last week.
When I got my M2 I swore I would not load anything that needed Rosetta but alas, I failed. If I did not need the actual Adobe-brand Acrobat because I do a lot of indexing, then I would use some other brand of PDF product (as there are many out there) and I would not need Rosetta.

It's been a year since this has been posted and it still hasn't been addressed. It's just silly at this point that while Acrobat Reader DC is native, the installer package used to install it isn't.

I was able to reproduce this on two brand-new, fresh out of the box M1 13" MacBook Pros. I'm an IT admin and was getting ready to deploy them.
