Microsoft Purview Information Protection - clear remembered account information
After the update from version 22.002.20191 to version 22.003.20258, we've detected an issue with the new Microsoft Purview Information Protection plug-in.
It can happen, that Adobe Acrobat DC crashes, if a MIP protected PDF file shall be opened. In this case the opening process hangs and Acrobat DC doesn't react any longer and you have to terminate the app.
This happens, because the cached account information for MIP are obviously unusable (e.g. corrupt or invalid). The only solution currently is, to clear the cache via the "Clear remembered account information" button.
But many standard users aren't aware of this possibility/solution and contact the hotline completely unnecessarily!
Now my proposal:
As soon as these cached account information are detected as unusable, for whatever reason, the user must be informed proactively via e.g. popup message to clear the account cache and how this can be realized. For that, a kind of mechanism must be implemented, which becomes active, as soon as the opening process for a MIP protected PDF can't be processed.
