User interface is the worst ever. Bring back the old interface
My idea is to bring back the old function interface.
The new user interface is the most inconvenient, inexplicable, poorly organized user interface I have experienced with any Adobe product.
In the future, interfaces should be tested with real live users and not code writers.
I wish there were a way to use a "legacy" interface.

I found an option where you can SWITCH between the OLD user interface and the NEW user interface. If you are in the new version, go to the 3 lines, click down under View, and click Disable New Acrobat. The same way in the old version. See my screenshot.
Thank you Mustafa!" -

I'm pretty open to change, but this new interface is by far the worst update I've experienced with just about platform. The functions are not easily accessible, or easy to locate for that matter. The lag and time to do anything is horrible. All around awful. So thankful I found this forum though so I could see @MFlemming's comment on how to change it back to the old version. LIFE SAVER!

@Mflemming's suggestion was a big plus for me. Happy to have the old UI back. By the way, the Disable New Acrobat was on the main hamburger menu, not under View so Adobe made it even easier to get back to the more functional interface.

I agree, scaling is missing, and the interface is the worst organized mess I have ever seen. The old interface had everything at your fingertips, now everything is a small picture and they are scattered everywhere. I am going to have to use some other system just to read my pdf's. I try to scroll down for the next page and it takes FOREVER and I have a heavy duty fast computer with mega memory.

so updated ( accidentally ) to adobe acrobat pro 2023.001.20143 and found just by dumb luck a spot that is worded so ( Show Home screen when all documents are closed) turn this off and no more home screen. only thing now is that when you open acrobat with no documents open it shows the home screen then which at least gets rid of the thing more then half of the time.

This, 100%. The most annoying aspect is the floating toolbar over the top of the document space. I can work around the buttons being laid out like some kind of art project, but having application elements appearing over the top of the documents I'm trying to review is unacceptable.
At least someone on the programming team had the thought to put a "Disable New Acrobat Reader" option in the view menu. I'll deal with the unresponsiveness of the legacy reader if it means that I can get to the tools and page display preferences I frequently use in a single click.

@Tomáš K - If you're just using reader it's probably not a big deal but, if you've been using advanced features in DC Pro, the new format is incredibly annoying and far from intuitive. Even resizing the window is difficult. Even my friend that's a senior scientist @ Abobe thought it was BS when I showed them.
However, I'm done whining now because @Mustafa-Aljabal was smart enough to find a simple solution and nice enough to share it. Thank you Mustafa! - See his post below.

the issue is when you close/open a pdf in acrobat the window that stays is the recent window We do not want another window to have to close to get back to work after checking a pdf. the way it was is simple you close the document or documents that you have open and go back to your desktop to work. not have to stop and close another window that has what you just closed it is repetitive, distracting and just plan annoying.

Honestly suprised people in this comment section don't like it. It's very clean and while the older reader kept crashing on office pcs, this one is really fast! Also it gives shi*ton of space to work with and the screen is no bloated with unnecessary s*it. Seriously, I read everything here and noone gave any specific feedback on why you guys don't like it. The only thing you guys seem to point out is the fact that it is different. But everything is so much more intuitive so how is that a problem?

even giving feedback is difficult Adobe. The new interface is completely unstreamlined, totally dumbed down, and inconveniently difficult to use. Menus? do they still exist? Why did you have to change the layout so completely? it wasn't broken and it's certainly NOT fixed. Please restore the old interface and stop changing things for no benefit.

This "upgrade" has made my job SO MUCH HARDER! I used to consider myself an Acrobat Pro power user. Now I'm just a useless wanker!
So glad to see I'm not the only one to ***** but, you'd think there would be more than 22 folks here whining about it!?!?! -

@Marilyn - sadly, changing just the Page layout and Zoom selections is not changing where all the icons and toolbars are located. Nor does it restore all the pinned icons users had prior to the latest update. The two biggest issues with the new interface are: 1) the fact that there are icons in all four corners of the window which is terrible for eye tracking and use of time due to having to move between four different sections just to accomplish a single task; and 2) the fact that every time an action is taken the left toolbar now expands sideways using up valuable screen space as well as pushing the page image to the side, again forcing more eye tracking that is completely unnecessary and takes up valuable time in completely tasks. Frankly, this is just a poorly designed interface without any apparent thought to the time each task takes to complete. Any good programming team would take all aspects of the user actions and time constraints into account, as well as do beta testing for user feedback. Too bad Adobe seems to have not done that with this update. Maybe this layout has something to do with their new agreement with Microsoft and Edge. If so, someone in management needs to seriously relook at the poor design aspect of this new interface.

I found a way to go back to the classic view.
1. Edit, Preferences (or Control-K).
2. Choose Page Display in the Categories section.
3. In the Default Layout and Zoom section (top of page), change the Page Layout and Zoom selections to your preference.
4. Click OK to save your settings. There might be a couple of other settings. Sorry, I cannot remember. But, I am back to using the classic view.

AGREE! The new interface is terrible! Give us the option to use the "classic" interface.
There is no new functionality. They simply moved all the icons! In fact, I can no longer find a function I used regularly - Rotate View.
Also, everything is the same white background - it's hard to distinguish files! So much empty space!
If you zoom in or out the slide bar disappears if you click in your document. And the zoom buttons are MUCH LESS ACCESSIBLE - the placement makes no sense.
Having the page numbers at the bottom right also makes no sense - too much looking around for tiny icons! -
